In the pool were a bunch of men who had been there for what looked like hours drinking beer and smoking cigarettes. As the pool is quite small we decided not to go in as it was extremely uncomfortable. Unfortunately we had to leave a night early even though we paid for the room because we just couldn't take anymore. Neither one of us had more than about 4 hours sleep each night it was really terrible because the room was actually quite lovely and the staff are really nice but they should never put people our age in a room that face the street with the nightclubs like that. The room and stay itself were good, but unfortunately everything went downhill when I checked out. I was told there would be a 4,000 peso hold on my card for incidentals. Instead of placing a hold, they actually charged my card. It has now been almost three weeks, and the hotel has still not been able to reverse the charge. What’s even more concerning is that they asked me to send my bank account information through WhatsApp in order to process the refund, which felt very unprofessional and insecure. Despite multiple conversations with the manager and hotel staff, I still have not received my refund of over $200 USD. This has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing, especially since the issue should have been simple to resolve. A mistake like this can happen, but taking weeks without resolving it and asking for sensitive financial information over messaging apps is not acceptable. I hope the hotel resolves this soon, but based on my experience, I would recommend being cautious with billing and deposits if you stay here." I think it’s important to mention that in order to use the sauna and cold plunge you have to pay extra, not much but it’s also not included in your stay. I would definitely stay at casa toro again. One thing to keep in mind is that the beach in front of the hotel is not the best for swimming, as the ocean can be a bit rough. Additionally, the internet coverage in our room was not very strong, so maintaining a stable connection was sometimes difficult.
