We, a family consisting of 2 parents, 2 grandparents and 3 kids between 3 and 9 years old, just came back from a splendid holiday in Apulia. What shell I say...?
The Antica Villa del Conte is really exceptional (from the photos you only get a glimpse from its beauty...) Benito and his family were a very friendly and helpful host and we immediately felt "at home". The Villa was very clean and very spacious and everything was of high quality (kitchen equipment, dishes, towels, shower...) not to mention the well thought out concept of the interior decoration ... On hot days, we went to the beach. There is a small one just 200 meters away from the house (we preferred the sandy beach a couple of minutes drive away, in Torre Castiglione). During lunch-time we took a long siesta, since it was too hot for sun-bathing, and I loved lying in the cool room, reading a book and looking at the vaulted ceiling ...
In the evenings we would either sit on the great roof-terrace, enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea and have dinner or walk through the macchia along the beach to the next village and get an ice-cream an aperitivo and something to eat (good food everywhere!)
The sea is beautiful with cristal clear water and sandy beaches either North or South.
The region in itself has its own very charme, with many idyllic places in the countryside... but you need a car and have to know where to go...
The people were without exception extremely friendly and open towards us and very helpful.
I can fully recommend this place and will come back some day, hopefully soon!
