The Earl of Doncaster Hotel

"The decor throughout the hotel is somethIng to behold. Gorgeous original entrance to the lift, quirky decorations everywhere. It really added to the experience of a nights stay in a hotel. The rooms were very different from the norm and very clean. The staff were very upbeat and welcoming. We had a few long chats in the bar with the night shift manager. He was so good giving us a lot of historical info about the hotel and also the surrounding area. All in all, it’s a place we will defo be back to when next in the area."
Stableside at York Racecourse

"This is a good location- only about 5 stops on the bus into York. It has plenty of safe parking. We stayed in the Annexe and it was mostly quiet apart from one night- coming from the "Day Girls" Room? - opposite the Ladies Shower Room/toilets- staff? We had to ask them to turn the noise down at 1 in the morning. But, really, it's a good place. There are 2 really good pubs within a few minutes walk- for eating and drinking. The breakfast room is light and airy and the staff were really nice and friendly. Good value for money- for York- would recommend."

"I only stayed overnight briefly. My only comment would be that it would be useful to have plug sockets near the bed rather than on the other side of the room."
