"We had a quick one night stay in the area. The hotel and rooms were clean, although dated and a little tired. It was totally perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was very good with several options. Beds were comfortable, and everything worked well in the bathroom. Despite odd location, it was quiet. Nice to have a gas and Dunkin so close. We would stay here again if in the area."

"Such a cute place! The owners were very responsive with our questions. We had a wonderful dinner and games in the screen room. Shower is roomy and the water pressure just right. Only wished there was a firepit. The dock was too unsafe to go out on. Would book with these owners again for sure!"

The hotel was easy to find and upon arriving we were met by the owner who checked us in. Having found out we were the only guests staying, the owner was very hospitable by explaining but the facilities offered, freshly made cookies and hot drinks to the relaxed and open house policy afforded to us as guests. We were recommended local restaurants for our evening meal, with the highly recommended being the one we plumpt for- it was a great choice. Breakfast was a fabulous experience in the morning...

Super friendly inn, owner was lovely and helpful and made us feel so welcome. Inn was quaint and lovely and great location for a short stroll into town. Breakfast was really good as was the cake laid out for guests to tuck into throughout the day, maybe with a cup of coffee in the lounge. Recommend a stay at Candlebay whilst in Freeport anytime.

Received a warm welcome from the new owner/hosts of this Inn which we were using as a stopover for one night. Our room was comfy and spotlessly clean, and, following a good nights sleep we were presented with an excellent Breakfast, the sconesbaked by Bill were some of the best we've eaten, and that is a big compliment having years of experience of Cream Teas in Devon/Cornwall in the UK.Our visit at James Place was relaxing and full filling(Breakfast that is).We would recommend heartily to anyone...

Although the furnishings in the room were quite old it was all well maintained and very clean. Fridge and microwave in room were useful although the cups provided weren't microwavable.
The older man on duty at the desk when we arrived was very helpful, unfortunately, I didn't catch his name.
We didn't have breakfast so can't comment. However we were very happy with the facilities and service for such an inexpensive stay.
