Is a true gem. Quietly located between the chic area of Playa's famous 5th Ave. and famous white sandy beaches only one block from each. The Antigua Suite is in a class all it's own. With 14 foot high ceilings, an abundance of windows dressed in adjustable shutters. The ambience is classic Caribbean but with fresh modern amenities. You'll admire the hand made antique patterned floor, and the antique styled furniture pieces. Apart from the master bedroom , there is a large mezzanine looking over the dining and living areas. It consists of a sitting area with an Antique styled sofa or single bed, then another area used as a second bedroom with a queen sized bed, plus a powder room and closet all sitting on gorgeous hard wood planks. The dinning area holds a large table able to accommodate eight dinner guests if necessary. From the dinning and living areas there are two sets of eight foot tall louvered french doors that open to a private wooden deck tucked under the trees, where you can peek though the foliage on to the pool. Antigua is easily accessible on the ground floor of the Plantation House's second building. It sits quietly protected behind the first building (street side) and the court yard. The owners have taken care to create a relaxing decor, attention was given to the quality of linens and towels etc. to make your experience here a real treat. ## Property amenities ### Beach - Beach loungers - Françoise and Joe were great to work with and answered all my questions prior to and during our visit. The suite is located just a block from the beach and a block from Quinta Avenida, but it wasn't too noisy at night...perfect for walking around PDC. As soon as I saw the photos in the listing, read the description and reviews I knew this was the one for us! From the moment we got to the Plantation House it felt like home. Seriously. My kids immediately fought over who got the bed and who got the couch upstairs in the mezzanine because why share the huge four poster queen bed? The apartment looks just as the listing photos showed and additionally there were plenty of kitchen pots, pans and the such if you wanted to use them. The beach itself was a short walk down the street, we went to the beach club one day and then down to the open beach by Mahekal several days which was a 15-20min walk but well worth it. The best parts for my kids though were that there was a pool right out the door that they could use from 9a until 10 or their bedtime. (Sorry to all the other wonderful guests who graciously laughed at his echoing pool antics, we appreciated you!) The other thing my daughter loved the iguanas right off the back porch. She'd go out everyday and check them out. Joe was very quick to respond with any questions we had and the cleaning staff were wonderful as well! We would definitely stay again at the Plantation House, we had a marvelous and remand family vacation which was exactly what we needed! ##### Jenna D. Split level, 2 bedrooms and 1 and a half baths. The kitchen was set up great and the big dinning room table was a plus. The living room was nice size where you could stretch out. The deck was a nice place to set or lay in the hammock. We felt very safe there and everywhere we wanted to go was just a short walk. The planation house remined me of Key west Florida. The locate for eating out was great. There were great places to eat or to have a few cocktails Just out the door and down one block. We have always stayed at the big resorts when we come to Playa and we are there at least twice a year . This place has changed our minds. The owners Were so nice and layed back. We will be back. ---
