"A mouse ran across the lobby when checking in. Scared a guest and the check-in lady. I was given a room on the 7th floor. Room 701. The elevator goes only to the 6th floor. Then you have to climb up a set of steep and narrow carpeted and dirty stairs. On the 7th floor the walls are dirty with markings from some construction work. The room had the pompous name “William penn suite”. They are two rooms connected with a narrow hallway. The rooms have basically no windows and you feel like in a basement - even if you are on the top floor. The carpet looks dirty. In one room there is a big white piece of equipment on the night stand. It is a portable air conditioning unit that blows air directly over the bed. Over all this is the worst hotel I ever stayed in. I have a video I would like to attach "

"We enjoyed the stay and extra perks from being on the 24 floor. Staff was fantastic and very friendly as well helpful. Bathroom water pressure was poor in sinks, shower and toilet ."

"Great stay. The room was a little smaller than expected but very clean. The shower head is large and needed proper cleaning but the shower itself and room were very clean. The staff was mostly helpful especially Tayshaun! The hotel itself is a little dated and they need new carpeting. The rooms have hardwood floors however and those were clean. No noisy neighbors helped! Overall a 9/10."

"This hotel USED to be our favorite but it's declining. The past two trips our valet experience has not been great. We pulled in and it's as if we didn't exist. We waiting by our car and tried to ask for help and then to our shock, they walked right past us and went to the guy who pulled in behind us. Delayed our check in and my husband has medical issues so standing for too long isn't great. The check in area and the restaurant are gorgeous. The rooms are always lacking in cleanliness. Last trip our floors were sticky and the carpet didnt appear to have been vacuumed. This trip, hair (little black hairs ON the tub) of course we didn't use it. Towels are old and scratchy. And just general lack of attention to cleaning...our tv had finger prints all over it, walls had splatter. It makes you feel like you can't take your shoes off. One note, last trip we set up room service for breakfast before we had to head to the hospital. It never came. We had to be all the front desk 3 times. It showed 2 mins before we had to be out the door. Honestly, we travel in for hospital appts at Penn and choose to stay near rittenhouse bc we have always loved it. It may be time to try some of the other hotels though bc Sofitel is not longer even a 4 star hotel in our opinion."
