Top Petrignano Hotel Reviews

Hotel Sant'Ercolano

Hotel Sant'Ercolano

10/10 Excellent
"Very nice staff at this convenient and basic hotel. Very clean and comfortable. It's about 3 minutes walk from the minimetro stop very near the main piazzas. The staff were very welcoming, allowed us to drop off luggage early and gave us caffé on arrival, then we returned later to check in. We opted to have the breakfast at the hotel, which was fine and convenient since we needed to check out early and catch a train. For the price and the staff and an authentic experience in beautiful Perugia, it's a top choice. If you want luxury, it's maybe not the place for you. We'll return when we next stay in Perugia!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Petrignano?
The best area to stay in Petrignano is within the main village itself, or in the immediate surrounding countryside for those seeking a more secluded experience.

The village centre of Petrignano offers a convenient base. You'll find a selection of local shops, a pharmacy, and a few traditional eateries. It's a small, friendly community where you can easily walk to everything. This area is particularly well-suited for couples who appreciate being part of local life while having amenities close at hand.

For families, staying in the countryside just outside Petrignano provides more space and a tranquil setting. Many properties here offer larger grounds, swimming pools, and stunning views of the Umbrian landscape.
When is the best time to go to Petrignano?
The best time to go to Petrignano, Umbria, Italy, is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months. These periods offer pleasant weather, ideal for exploring the region's beauty without the intensity of summer heat or the chill of winter.

During spring, the countryside around Petrignano bursts into bloom, with rolling hillsides covered in wildflowers. The temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it great for outdoor activities like hiking or cycling through the olive groves and vineyards. This is an excellent time for couples looking for scenic drives and enjoying the natural splendour of Umbria.

Autumn brings a different kind of beauty, with the landscape transforming into a palette of warm reds, oranges, and golds as the leaves change. The weather remains comfortable, usually between 15°C and 22°C, and this season coincides with the grape harvest and olive picking, offering unique cultural experiences. Foodies will especially appreciate this time, as many local festivals celebrate regional produce like truffles and new olive oil.

While summer (July and August) can be warm, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, it's still a popular time for those who enjoy hot weather and wish to combine their stay with local festivals and outdoor concerts.
