A great trip. Pickup at the pier. Just call ahead. Upgraded room provided. Did not expect that. Good breakfast, their private beach is excellent as its not crowded. Overall highly recommended. Will use again.

Very quite location. Staff was very helpful and friendly. However, when you place guests in rooms you should stagger them so guest are not right next to each other specially guests with sometimes noisy kids and guests without kids. How I know this is a great place, we are planning on returning. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Nice quiet room near the beach. Rooms very clean and spacious with good hot water in shower. Lots of parking. And many friendly dogs that greet you.

We were at Xandau during the foreign arrival ban when all was very quiet, so that probably had an effect on our experience. But it was great. Staff very accommodating. Samae Beach is one of the more remote ones and therefore less crowded. Rooms clean and comfortable. Groinds and beach beautiful. Nice restaurant with a great breakfast. Great little resort on an interesting and easily accessible island.

Great stay
Great stay at Xanadu again. Quite busy due to Thai holiday. Excellent sea food barbecue both nights. As always beach and area very quiet by late afternoon. Staff very attentive and pleasant. Excellent breakfast.

It had everything we needed for short getaway! Private beach area for guest, clear water great for swimming or snorkeling. I had an amazing time!
Scooters awesome transportation! Watch out for baht bus traffic!

Beautiful hotel. Beautiful view. Very quaint. Staff was so helpful making sure we had a ride to the pier very early in the morning in the dark. Though I have to mention there was barely any hot water. Overall a wonderful experience.

Food was cold, took long time to arrive at the table Landscape was not done, leaves everywhere Bed was broken, sank to one side while laying on the bed No more private beach, all tour boats are welcome.

I have travelled to more than 30 hotels in 5 countries so far this year. This hotel is literally "The Worst". The hotel should be delisted from expedia until serious renovation has been done. First room - the floor is not cleaned, the warm water machine for shower is broken. The sink is broken and literally soaked me when I tried to wash my hands. Second room - aircondition cannot be turned on - called in technician - they finally turns it on but it does not work properly and we were sweating in bed... Thid room - finally get the room that is sleepable but was being downgraded... In addition to all the horror stories above which ruin our relaxing trip, the water in this facility is the sea water, very badly filtered, so it was still salty and taste super weird... Book this hotel if you want your vacation to be ruined or want to shower/drink the sea water.

staff are so so lovely, and super helpful. Location is good too. Rooms are spacious and clean, and although the bathrooms are pretty basic, they did the job just fine. Definitely recommend this place to stay. As a side note, the island itself is quite dirty, lots of rubbish all over the place, plastic in the sea etc. But this place itself was very clean

Far from the Madding Crowd
I f you want a chill from Pattaya this is the place for you. Although the beach and bars are quite busy (very busy in high season) during the day, once the day trippers have left there is just the hotel guests and an empty, peaceful beach in the evening. Xanadu has it's own private section of beach/loungers for those who require it and a simple but enjoyable beachside restaurant. Rooms are basic but clean and there is no mini bar - so bring your own as there is no 7/11 either! This was my second visit and I will return.

Too expensive for what it was
Breakfast buffet was quite disappointing and was poorly prepared. We had to wait for cutlery that was placed in a unhygienic way. Related or not I was ill afterwards.

It was the best place in the island! Right on the beach, so when you have breakfast, you are looking at the sea. Once you know the taxis are at the end of the road, You can get anywhere on the island for 50 bhat or less. The staff was very good. If you go to Koh Larn, this is definitely the place to stay.

Good service with shuttle service from pier to resort and resort to pier. Linen was a bit stained though upon checked in.

Peaceful private beach. Hotel food is tasty and worth money however it is isolated at night. If you expect to go around at night it is impossible unless you can drive motor bike which is quite dangerous for those who are not familia with the route. Also, take your toothbrush and toothpaste. They don't provide.

Overall it was a good experience. On a nice beach, but it is somewhat isolated. That can be a good or a bad thing, depending on what you're looking for. You can get a taxi into town for about $6 US. The biggest problem is the terrible smell coming from a nearby garbage dump. The staff was nice and the rooms were clean.

This is a very basic place to stay. It is on a beautiful beach in a more remote part of the island. You will need to rent a scooter to get into the parts of town with all of the restaurants, which was not a problem for me. I would stay here again, but I don't ever plan on being in the room very much, so the quality of it is not important to me. The staff is great and very accommodating. They pick you up once you get off of the ferry and they also drop you off there when you are ready to check out. This location is great if you are trying to stay away from people visiting just for the day. There are always beach chairs ready for you from the resort that day trippers are not allowed to use. If you do not mind staying in a very basic room (bed, toilet, shower and TV with very minimal channels) this is a great place.

Getting it Wrong!
Hotel is not true to the brochure. No internet in the 2 rooms I booked . Satellite TV does NOT exist there is only Thai news channels , no sport or movie channel in English. To beat it all I had a King size bed that was made up of 2 single sheets and 2 single duvets !!! Have you any idea how uncomfortable it is to sleep in a bed where your feet gets caught in the 'join'. and the 2 single duvets part. Pizza's on the menu they don't have. At the time I went there, the hotel had a 2 day corporate event which was Thai personnel and the hotel seemed only willing to cater for that party. An overall stressed out weekend break.

This hotel is located on the beach but rooms don't have a beach view. That's fine because less than 100 meters from the room is the beach. Location is isolated so it's very quite in the morning evening and at night. In the day some boats arrive with day visitors but not as many as the other beaches. Tien beach is a 10 minute walk and very easy to get to in the day. The hotel has 3 taxis for pick up and drop of at check in and out. But unfortunately they do not put them to better use like evening drop of and pick up to the busy beaches. The staff are very friendly but most don't speak any English. The rooms are big and comfortabley set up, but they and especially the bathroom are in need of maintenance. The queen bed are two twins put together and the mattresses are worn out. The ac is very week and maitence came out in minuets to check and clean the filter but did not improve so they gave a 2nd key card so the ac stays on all the time. The hotel is located at one end of the beach. And the hotel staff try to keep that part clean. The sun beds were comfortable and readily available. At one point an employee noticed a broken bed and was quick to remove it. Breakfast has much room for improvement. They have an egg station but chose to prepare the eggs and put them out in the open. They get cold and insects could get into them. Even though our room did not have any insects the breakfast area had a lot. Breakfast seliction is limited. The hotel could be much better.

We stayed at Koh Larn, Xanadu hotel, because it was a way from the congestion of being in the town of the pier, this was a good decision, the beach where we stayed was a target for “day” tourist who arrived by boat and the departed about 5-6 pm arriving starting at 10 am daily. The only concern I have is when tourists arrived they were quickly directed to our “resort” beach chairs, leaving virtually none for guests of the hotel. The resort could use some fresh paint, but the staff are very accommodating. There was everything available from ski jet, banana boat rides, lots of vendors during the day. There were motor bike/ scooter rentals all very readily priced as well as connections for snorkeling, para sailing and other attractions. It was an enjoyable stay
