"This is a very average property, with a very nice view. The staff isn't very friendly from the minute we walked in the door. None of the amenities were open, or they were all booked. So if you want to eat dinner apparently you need to call weeks ahead. The breakfast is very average. It's like a selection of grocery store bought goods and and a couple of hot things. Also no cups, which apparently was a chore to be asked for one. But then the worst part, is that construction on the property apparently starts at 7:00 a.m. sharp. Nothing like waking up to an angle grinder cutting rebar. Would probably look fo stay somewhere more local next time."

"What a gorgeous property. Spa options are amazing. The wine and port tasting was top-notch. With only one night, we really did not get to experience all of it. I would recommend at least two. While the morning buffet offers a fresh and delicious selection of high-quality local items, the setup can be confusing at times because plates are not visually available or laid out on the counters, occasionally causing minor delays. Despite this slight morning bottleneck, the property remains a highly recommended, tranquil base for anyone visiting the town or the nearby Douro Valley."

"Staff were fabulous, special thanks to Ana, Bruno and Rita. Hotel was nice but tired, needs some TLC. Hotel is good for 2 nights, as dinner menu only changes every other day. Breakfast was satisfactory. As the accommodation was listed as a “wine hotel” we were expecting wine tastings and a sommelier."
