"Lovely village feel with the hotel and the castle being at the centre. There was a wedding on in the castle, they seem to have many events at the grounds. We ate in the restaurant one night which was excellent (restaurant is closed on Sundays), the room was very spacious, modern and clean with a great shower room, breakfast was simple but did the job. Getting to Bologna is not that easy without a car as the local train station has only very few trains per day and the bus stop is quite a walk. Friendly staff and seemed to be on a bike / hiking trail."

"We were looking for a unique place to start our holiday and Ca’Palazzo Malvasia really delivered. A former hunting lodge 15 mins outside of Bologna, set in rolling hills and accessed through miles of gravel driveways interspersed with iron gates, the Palazzo is full of sloping corridors, staggered steps, grand rooms and antique furniture, with bookcases bulging with texts from the 1800s. The family room (2 double beds) was fully in keeping with the feel of the place save for a modern bathroom and excellent aircon. We never met any staff as the listing wants to keep out of your way, but they were clearly there in the background, keeping everything running smoothly. Palazzo guests can use a swimming pool and 9-person jacuzzi (not 9 jacuzzis as the listing suggests!) that is shared with guests from a B&B on the estate."

"Clean hotel. Room was clean. Staff really friendly. Breakfast is same in the 2 hotel we stayed. Eggs toast juice coffee machine and fruit and pastries. Im used to good air conditioning so in that case doesnt seem like most of the hotels ac units can keep up or are limited to a certain fan speed. Maybe have floor fans as an option to guests."

"Our stay was overall really great. The pool was lovely, there is a sauna but I didn’t get to use it. The breakfast had a nice selection and almost all of the staff were amazing and helpful. A special shout out to the lady that manages breakfast as she seems to remember everyone and makes an extra effort with all guests! The biggest detriment was the night manager on Sunday the 19th. I came downstairs and there was no one at reception so I wandered over to the restaurant to borrow a fork. I didn’t take it off any table that was already prepared but went to the cutlery pile. On the way back I saw the manager at reception and asked if it was ok that I borrowed the fork to show I wasn’t hiding anything or stealing anything and he was patronising and rude over a fork. Other staff members witnessed his attitude and apologised to me after but there no wonder he is a night manager. It might be better if he wasn’t affiliated with the hotel at all as it left a bitter taste in my mouth."
