The best areas to stay in Paravenna are the historic centre for a classic experience or the beachfront promenade for direct access to the sea.The historic centre is a delightful maze of narrow, cobbled streets, known locally as "carrugi," which open onto charming piazzas. You'll find a good selection of traditional trattorias, artisanal shops, and small boutiques. The area is dominated by the imposing Castello di Paravenna, and the main thoroughfare, Via Roma, is ideal for an evening stroll. This area is great for couples who enjoy exploring on foot and appreciate a sense of history. For those prioritising relaxation and sea views, the beachfront promenade is an excellent choice. Hotels here often offer balconies overlooking the Ligurian Sea, and you're just steps away from the sandy beaches. It's a slightly more modern area compared to the historic centre, with a relaxed holiday feel.

The best time to go to Paravenna is typically during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to October).During these periods, the weather is pleasantly mild, with comfortable temperatures ideal for exploring the Ligurian coastline and its charming villages. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed and authentic experience. The sea is also warm enough for swimming in early autumn, and the local produce, especially the grapes and olives, are at their best. For those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking or cycling along the Cinque Terre trails, these shoulder seasons offer the great conditions without the intense summer heat or the chill of winter.
