Glenview Cottages

8/10 Good
"While the cabin was clean and roomy there were a few issues that could be fixed to make it a bit better. The inner tank pieces of the toilet need to be replaced, runs on and makes a lot of noise. The tub tap is also in need of replacement. There was a strong food odor that greeted us when we arrived and anytime we left and came back. Opening the windows helped and having the air on cleared it for awhile. Also in one room you had to move the bed to the wall to be able to close the door. The Glenview is in a convenient location to head back to the Soo."

Beautiful Cottage on Lake Superior with Incredible Sunsets

Beautiful Cottage on Lake Superior with Incredible Sunsets

8/10 Good
"What a great host; accommodating and quick to respond. Pros: Beautiful view of Superior. The space was clean other than the play / card room had some sand and such on the floor when we arrived (no big deal, it's a lake house!). The outdoor space was lovely. Internet was great and speedy for remote work and streaming. Cons: There's not much near by, so stock up before you go out (the gas station is pretty limited right at the turn, so Sault St Marie is your best bet). The rooms are well-represented on the listing photos, but they are tight! No ability to open the main windows in the primary living room / dining area. One bathroom for a group of 5 adults and one 4yr old was a bit rough, but it's doable!Families with kids: The water / "beach" is very rocky, water shoes are a must. If you have little ones, there aren't black-out curtains for the bright summer nights. There's no door from the bunkbeds to the card table/play space. Overall: Great space for a reasonable price. We would likely opt for something a bit different for our needs next time (very specific to our group), but would definitely recommend the place to others. The hosts were very responsive, check-in was easy."

"I literally don’t want to write this review because I want to gatekeep this cottage. I couldn’t be happier with the listing, the property, the communication with Gene. If we ever find ourselves back in Lake Superior we are only ever choosing this place. Thank you so much Gene."

"This was our second summer staying here, that probably says it all, and we’d happily come back again. The cottage was spotless, the beds are really comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need. Having the kayaks, paddles, firewood and BBQ all ready to go made it easy to settle in and enjoy our holiday. We loved spending time on the deck and in the gazebo, taking in the beautiful lake views and the peace and quiet. It really is the perfect place to slow down. The host was always friendly, quick to respond and easy to get hold of if we had a question.A couple of things future guests might like to know: the water is shallow and a little muddy near the shore before becoming firmer underfoot. A wonderful cottage and a great base for exploring the Sault and Lake Superior. We already hope to be back again."

"We had a great stay at this rental in Hayden, Ontario. Althea was an excellent host, her communication was top notch and she answered all of our questions quickly and clearly. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable, even during our winter visit when there was a ton of snow in the area. We were visiting family and also spent time skiing at Searchmont, which was only about a 25-minute drive away — super convenient.Overall, a fantastic place to stay with a wonderful host. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it."
