I felt very unsafe here. She had us a park in the middle of a homeless camp. We had to pay a homeless man to not vandalize our car. She said parking is free but typically you pay 1-2 euros to the illegal parking attendant to get them to go away. She spoke very little English so communicating was difficult. I felt so unsafe. Although she was right and there were no issues. She was a difficult person to work with and did not seem to care or understand why we had our concerns. It was all just normal to her.

Wonderful apartment in a good location
We booked a short stay at this apartment because it was located in close proximity to restaurants, shopping and historic sites. It was the perfect size for our family of four. There is so much charm throughout the home and neighborhood. Francesca was so helpful with her suggestions for restaurants and activities that our teens might like. She was always quick to respond to our questions and also helped us to arrange transportation to the airport. We highly recommend this home and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we are in the area.

Great value
Good value, very clean & great location. Although, communications with the host were a bit difficult since they were mostly in Italian. I had to translate every now and then when I had wifi. And I was hoping she would pass by to recommend any places or restaurants, especially because I was travelling alone… but no! For a short stay, it’s a good option!

Enjoyed our Stay
My wife and I stayed five nights at this flat, and it worked well for exploring Palermo. We walked everywhere. Communications with Francesca were great, and she was really accomodating when we arrived a bit earlier than expected. Emails were promptly replied to. Palermo is a loud city, but with the shutters closed and the double-paned windows shut, it's quiet inside the flat, and we slept well here. We had no trouble with parking at Piazza della Kalsa, a short walk to the flat (and it was free). If you're cooking a meal and looking for fresh fish to purchase, try Raccuglia Claudio, which isn't too far from the flat (Google it). We bought sashimi-grade tuna twice during our stay to quick sear at the flat(not expensive, and they give a small sample slice too). All in all this flat is functional and worked well for us. We'd return.

Palermo stay
The apartment is excellent. Very handy for sightseeing in Palermo. We walked everywhere . There is free parking and internet. The kitchen is very well equipped and the outside terrace was lovely and relaxing and a great space to eat in. Franscesca kept in good contact to make sure she was there when we wanted to arrive and to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Palermo is a very interesting city to visit and the location of the apartment made this easy. We had a great time and I would highly recommend the apartment.

What a beautiful location. The apartment was better than described. It has lots of room and the location was excellent. We had easy access to all of the old town spots by just walking. Francesca went out of her way to make us feeling comfortable and gave us lots of great tips. She provided transport to and from the airport and helped make our Palmero visit a great experience. Take your time in this beautiful city - Grazia Francesca!

Walkable Palamero
Francesca was more than willing to pick us up and return us safely to the airport. She answered all our questions and made suggestions as to where we should visit. From her apartment we walked to both open air food markets, every church and major historical site. We logged over 10 miles per day. All the food venues were tasty and the desserts were decadent. We did taxi to Mondello beach for the day...you could take a bus...but it was a worthwhile splurge because our taxi driver was very entertaining. The one activity that was not accomplished was going to Mount Pellegrino to visit Saint Rosalie's shrine and then hike to the top. It was an amazing week with the entire family. Looking forward to another walkable Palermo vacation in the near future. Grazie Francesca.

A Charming Apartment in Kalsa

Awesome location!
Thank you for such an amazing stay and easy process. The apartment was perfect for our stay. The location was great in the old city but very close to the ocean. Our host picked us up from the train station and then drove us to the airport. The service was like staying at a 5 star hotel! Can't say enough great things. Thanks again for the memories!

Wonderful apartment, wonderful host, wonderful neighborhood
Francesca was such a generous and friendly host. She met us at the train station, and drove us to the apartment, which was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a view of a picturesque wall and street, and of the sea down the street. She gave us great restaurant advice, and explained the city and the neighborhood, and had a good collection of maps and other tourist information. She even helpfully got involved in our luggage problems (which were missing for a week thanks to the airline). The neighborhood was fantastic, if you like authentic street life -- which I do. I very much recommend this apartment.

Character flat in the old town, Francesca's home delighted us....completely home from home where we settled in at once...clean, spacious, imaginately furnished and decorated. We were prepared for some noisy chatter and barking dogs at night, but not so. ...only the odd old chap with a nod and a grin to greet us. It could not have been better placed for every amenity. Francesca is a warm , welcoming and completely helpful lady. We enjoyed absolutely everything there and will recommend, and return Reminder...bring comfortable walking shoes, and be prepared to be adventurous , and ENJOY ! ...Unwind ,and if you are northerners like us, soak up the relaxed atmosphere, and easy pace of life in the sun. ! ..oh... but beware the crazy speed of traffic ! Thankyou for everything Francesca .

We arrived in Palermo in the pouring rain, but Francesca, the owner, had already arranged to pick us up from the bus station, for which we were very grateful as otherwise we would have walked. The apartment itself is huge, both bedrooms are very large and well thought out, with air-con in one, and a fan in the other, and both with balconies, as has the kitchen-diner. There was more than enough space for just two of us. Francesca also checked in advance whether we were a couple or friends - which meant the apartment was set up for us (unlike other owners who assumed we were a couple and then didn't have the bed linen ready). The shower worked well, with lots of hot water. The location was great - plenty of local life, some of it just below the windows! But the double-glazing kept the noise out when required. There was plenty of info/maps available in the apartment, and Francesca was very attentive on advising of things to do. La Kalsa has a touch of edginess, but no worse than other areas of Palermo that we wandered through. We loved Palermo, and would definitely re-book this apartment for our next stay.

Lovely flat in an excellent location
This was an ideal flat for our first visit to this wonderful city. Located just at the edge of the main historical zone, we found it easy to walk to the things we wanted to see and did not need to take the free tourist bus. On street parking was easy to find. The flat is spacious and comfortable with a traditional vibe that we really liked. Francesca is an excellent host - very helpful and responsive. We can’t wait to come back to Palermo and will definitely stay at Francesca’s if we can.

This Place Is For You...
At the end of our three-week family Italian vacation, we spent two nights in Francesca's property, and we were delighted with the accommodations. Where to start? First, the neighborhood...while the neighborhood looks suspect, we did not experience any problems. In fact, the neighborhood provided just enough of a immersion in the local culture, which we really appreciated. There is a mini-market around the corner, a street-food cart across the street, and two restaurants within a two to three minute walk (the restaurants specialize in seafood, so those travelers who desire that type of cuisine, you don't have to venture too far away). Also, there is a free tourist bus stop about a three minute walk from the apartment, which will take you to every important landmark in the historical city center of Palermo. Second, the apartment...it is located on the second floor, with no lift, so travelers with a lot of luggage, please keep that in mind. Yet, it is only one set of stairs. The apartment can easily accommodate up to four adults or a family of five (assuming one individual is okay with sleeping on the couch). The mattresses were great--even better than the mattresses in the hotels that we stayed in during our stays in Florence and Venice. There was plenty of space for the personal items we brought with us for our stay. The shower, like all showers during our three-week vacation, was small. I did mention to Francesca about the limited amount of hot water, but she explained that the older systems, found in the historical parts of Palermo, are not suited for gas-powered water heaters; as such, the water heater is electrical and limited in the amount of water it can heat. So, to ensure that the hot water last for the needs of those traveling, you need to ration or limit hot water usage. But, do not let that be a deal breaker, particularly, if you plan on a summer stay, where the hot water may not be needed, as it was during our winter stay. Lastly, a few words about the owner, Francesca...she was awesome. She offered to pick up my family and I from the Palermo airport and drop us off for our return trip (50 euros round trip). Francesca also spent time talking to us about her city and sites of interest. Francesca was so welcoming that we have made plans to return to Sicilia to stay at her property. So...if you are the type of traveler that enjoys local culture, great accommodations, and a wonderful host, this place is for you

Thanks Juan for the nice words! I would just like to make a couple of clarifications: As for the traveler with luggage, the staircase leading to the apartment consists of 17 steps. I personally help my guests to bring their luggage. It was never a problem! As for a fifth guest, as written on the site, I have the possibility of a comfortable folding bed with wooden slats and not the sofa, which is not intended to be a bed! Finally, hot water: the electric water heater (which has the maximum capacity of water, 80 liters) if it is used for particularly long showers, obviously the second person who has to take a shower will have to wait for it to fill with hot water. It therefore depends on people taking a shower and how much water they consume. The tank of the water heater contains 80 liters, making normal showers, this problem does not exist. I wish you a good continuation! Many dear greetings to your family!

Lovely apartment, easy-going owner, good location.
Francesca was very straightforward and accommodating to deal with, her flat is tastefully decorated, spacious and had everything we (a couple) needed. It's near the seafront, the interesting bars and markets, and central station is an easy 15 min walk away. We would happily return.

Tolle Umgebung

Hervorragende Ferienwohnung in toller Lage
Eine sehr schöne Ferienwohnung! Küche (gut ausgestattet!), Bad, zwei Schlafzimmer mit je zwei Betten; ausreichend Schränke; nett eingerichtet. Im Bad ist auch eine Waschmaschine. Ein sehr hübscher Mini-Balkon lädt zum Draußensitzen ein. WLAN funktioniert sehr gut. Traumhafte Lage in der Altstadt. Bahnhof und Bushaltestellen sind nicht weit entfernt; der Hafen / das Meer ist „nebenan“ und wichtige Läden um die Ecke. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war hervorragend: sehr, sehr rasche Antworten, freundlich und mit guten Hinweisen rund um den Aufenthalt vor Ort. Sogar ein vorzeitiger Check-In wurde ermöglicht, weil die Gäste vor uns früh abgereist waren. Uneingeschränkte absolute Empfehlung! 🌟

DEUX MOIS à PALERME chez FRANCESCA
Un vrai bonheur cet appartement situé à deux pas du centre historique de Palerme. En plus dans une rue très calme puisque les voitures y sont interdites sauf pour les résidents. Bel appartement tout confort, avec deux très grandes chambres avec bonne literie. Francesca est une hôtesse exceptionnelle, remplie de bonnes intentions pour ses hôtes. Geräumige zentrumsnahe Wohnung
Sowohl durch das gesellige Treiben in der Nähe der Wohnung als auch durch die Vermieterin Francesca fühlte man die gleich willkommen. Die Wohnung selber ist geräumig, schön ausgestattet und sauber. Sie bietet sowohl Platz das sizilianischen Leben zuzugucken als auch in Ruhe zu entspannen. Neben dem Meer und dem Hafen, die sich in der Nähe befinden, kann man in und um Palermo diverse Sehenswürdigkeiten zum Großteil fußläufig erreichen.

Sehr aufmerksame Gastgeberin, schöne Wohnung, zentral gelegen.
Francesca ist eine aufmerksame und zuverlässige Gastgeberin, die uns auch vom Flughafen abgeholt und zurückgebracht hat. Die Wohnung ist schön geschnitten und liegt sehr zentral, sodass wir alles zu Fuß machen konnten. Zum Selberkochen fehlen ein paar Utensilien wie v.a. brauchbare Küchenmesser. Hier musste ich auf mein Taschenmesser zurückgreifen. Im ersten Schlafzimmer war die einzige Lampe defekt. Wir hatten kalte und regnerische Tage, und so fiel auf, dass nur das hintere Zimmer über eine Klimaanlage einigermaßen zu heizen war. Wir haben daher uns immer in die vorhandenen Tücher und Decken gehüllt, um nicht zu frieren.

Dear Heiner, thanks for the review. I would like to clarify a few things: the kitchen is equipped with everything you need, including a set of large kitchen knives that you obviously haven't seen. The bedroom has two central lights, two small bedside lampshades and a large bedside lamp on the bookcase. I strongly doubt that they were all not working, you could have warned me on WhatsApp and I would have done so immediately. Anyway, tomorrow I'll check. In the bedroom there is a blanket of goose feathers, another blanket in the closet and the air conditioner. In Palermo the temperature, in April, is 15/20 degrees. Spring. Perhaps you are excessively chilly. You could always tell me about it and I would have provided you with more blankets. You forgot to mention a bottle of water, coffee, tea and fruit juice and croissants available for you. Greetings.

Alles gut!
Das Apartment liegt im historischen Zentrum. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten und die Uferpromenade sind gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Außerdem gibt es einen kostenlosen Bus, der alle Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Altstadt anfährt (Haltestelle: Porta Felice). Das Apartment war sauber und alles Notwendige war vorhanden. Francesca war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wir haben gute Tipps für Ausflüge und Restaurants erhalten.

Hübsche und gemütliche Wohnung in der Altstadt. Alles perfekt!
Francesca war eine tolle Gastgeberin und zu jeder Zeit erreichbar. Die Wohnung war sauber und gepflegt und in einem typischen sizilianischem Altbau in der Altstadt. Das Meer und das Stadtleben befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind einfach per Fuß zu erreichen. Ausnahmslos zu empfehlen!

La casa è molto bella, dotata di tutti i comfort ed in posizione strategica per raggiungere a piedi tutti i principali monumenti della città. Tutto corrisponde alle fotografie del sito, il silenzio non è fotografato ma è garantito, tutto molto tranquillo. Sotto casa un'ottima trattoria a prezzi modici e "Chiluzzo" il fruttivendolo che prepara un'insalatina formidabile praticamente regalata 😊😊! E Francesca è eccezionale, disponibilissina, ci ha accolti come dei vecchi amici e ci ha dato un sacco di "dritte": grazie, grazie e ancora grazie!!!! Torneremo a Palermo e non mancheremo di tornare dove siamo stati accolti così bene!! A presto Mariolina

Schöne Wohnung in guter Lage
Meine Frau und ich, wir haben zwei wunderschöne Wochen in der Wohnung von Francesca verbracht. Die Wohnung ist geschmackvoll und praktisch eingerichtet. Alle notwendigen Geräte sind da und funktionieren. Francesca ist bei allen Problemen eine große Hilfe. Die Wohnung liegt sehr günstig: Bäcker. Laden, Restaurants sind in kurzer Entfernung, ebenso ein kostenloser Touristenbus. Die wichtigen Gebäude sind aber alle auch gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Palermo ist eine großartige Stadt und die Wohnung von Francesca ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt, sehr empfehlenswert. Martin und Brigitta

Supe séjour
Tout est agréable dans cet appartement, de plus il est très bien situé au cœur de la ville et à 2 pas du port. Francesca est une hôtesse parfaite, toujours disponible.

Appartement calme dans quartier agréable
Nous avons passé une nuit dans l'appartement de Francesca qui parle français et qui nous a donné de bonnes adresses. En voiture, parking gratuit sur la place près de l'appartement. Le quartier est très agreable avec des places bordées de bars et restaurants.

Una graziosa casa nel cuore della Kalsa
L'appartamento, spazioso e confortevole, si trova nel posto ideale per conoscere questa città unica nel suo aspetto più autentico. È un quartiere popolare dove la gente è piuttosto vivace ma cordiale e disponibile. Altrettanto socievole e alla mano la signora Francesca, capace di mettere subito a loro agio i propri ospiti. Una passeggiata a piedi consente di raggiungere tutti i siti più interessanti del centro storico apprezzando nello stesso tempo affascinanti scorci meno noti.

Die Wohnung Ist sauber, sent praktisch und freundlich für einen Urlaub-Aufenthalt gezielt eingerichtet. Die WiFi und die Haushaltmaschinen funkzionieren tadellos. Es ist schade dass der Duschkopf in der Dusche nicht beweglich, und wir hätten einen modernen Wasserkocher gut brauchen können. Die Bette sind bequem und Francesca war immer hilfsbereit. Wit kommen gerne zurück und können die Wohnung weiterempfehlen.☀️

appartement parfait : idéalement situé dans la veille ville, calme et bien équipe
TOus les sites à voir sont très proches. On est au cœur de la vieille ville dans un quartier populaire. Plein de restaurants et bistrots tout proches . Plus le Carrefour ou l'on trouve tout ! Bref un séjour idéal renforcé par l'accueil parfait d d'la propriétaire. Appartement très propre et bien entretenu. Je le recommande vivement.

Ich bin sehr zufrieden. Eine schöne, bequeme Ferienwohnung und eine sehr nette Eigentümerin. Die Lage ist relativ zentral und trotzdem ruhig. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht, eine sehr ordentliche Grundausstattung an Geschirr und Kochutensilien, auch die nötigsten Gewürze, so dass man nicht alles erst besorgen muss, wenn man eine Kleinigkeit zum Abendessen kochen will. Bequemes Bett, Klimaanlage im Schlafzimmer, Waschmaschine und Fön im Bad. Ich kann diese Wohnung uneingeschränkt empfehlen.
