"Expedia claims check-in is at 10am. It is not. Check-in is at 3pm. They are short staffed, so the front desk is unattended while they are cleaning rooms. I sat in the lobby for an hour before a staff member came by and told me I couldn't check in until 3pm."

"This property was a treat to stay in, especially for the price. The traditional futons made for a quiet, relaxing evening before a busy day of touring Fujiyoshida. I was a huge fan of the wood floor bathroom and wooden bathtub as well. I would recommend spring or summer stays, as the traditional construction means it will be quite cold in the winter, but it was a lovely stay and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Mt. Fuji."

"Highlight of this place was definitely the view and the dinner and breakfast that they prepare."

"- right by Lake Kawaguchi - super kind staff - large room (bedroom & tatami room) with a lake view - free shuttle"

"The staff were very helpful. Highly recommend the food - so fresh, delicious and a real taste of Japan. Amazing location near the lake and so many places to visit a short drive away."

"We loved our stay! We’re from out of town, so being able to glamp with the needed tools to cook was such a fun experience. It’s also a good location to do activities at Mt. Fuji and the nearby lakes. Not all staff spoke English, so we had to use a translation app to communicate. Despite this, they were all very professional and helpful. One thing to note, it is in the nature so there are bugs and leaf that got in the room. Bring bug spray!"

"Great overall stay and very helpful staff"

"Onsen & Location is really nice"

"Exceeded all expectations!!!! Amazing and relaxing just what we needed"

"The staff was very helpful and friendly with any questions. Very awesome traditional Japanese style, would highly recommend. Will stay here when I revisit."

"Perfect if you want an old-fashioned, really traditional Japanese inn experience. Shared public bath, views of the lake, futon bedding in tatami rooms (sit on the floor), breakfast is hot rice with a raw egg or ochazuke… it’s hard to find places like that anymore. And the bus to wherever you want to go stops either at the hotel or across the street."

"I had a great stay at megu fuji. Staff were very friendly. Rooms were very cozy and clean. On the rooftop you can see Mt . Fuji. Not far from Lake Kawaguchiko where you can also see Mt. Fuji and go shopping in the cute little town."

"A fairly remote location, perfect for exploring Yamanaka with great nearby views of Mount Fuji. Excellent price for the quality of amenities. The check in/out process were well optimized for the autonomous travellers, and the interactions I did have with staff were cordial and friendly."

"Great place"

"The staff where good people, it was a little difficult to get to, but the whole place is surrounded by nature, and you can't beat the price for the location. would recommend to anyone."

"Property layout was exactly as listed. Nice little place that has a tiny home living feel with a good amount of amenities attached. Good amount of space. Nice and quiet. Great restaurants in the area as well."

"The hotel is super close to convenient spots, such as the lake and the bus stop. It also offers a traditional experience as the rooms are decorated in a traditional fashion."

"Michael and his wife, Kotoha, are genuinely lovely people. They were incredibly warm, friendly and accommodating, and made me feel very welcome during my stay. The hostel itself is very well kept, exceptionally clean and tidy, with great facilities and everything you need for a comfortable stay. I really enjoyed my time here and would 100% stay again. Highly recommended."
