Once upon a time when Toyotomi Hideyoshi visited Sumiyoshi Shrine he stopped by this area and had Sen no Rikyu who accompanied him draw some spring water from a teahouse and make tea for him Names such as Denka Chaya and Tengachaya of Tenkabito came to be known This inn was created with the concept of tea ceremony which is appropriate for the place name of Tengachaya
