The room needed some updating, the bathroom fixtures were not in great shape, but it was clean. The air conditioning was not easy to regulate and it was cold in the room, but it's better than being too hot.
A perfectly acceptable hotel near the metro station. Nice, clean room with comfy bed
In retrospect, would not recommend it for families with younger children unless planning early sex education as the nearby shops have some interesting displays.
Incredibly noisy at night. Seems like there was a party (or fight?) going on outside the hotel from 3:00 a.m. on a Tuesday morning despite the fact that the hotel was in a fairly secluded/ residential type street. Not sure if this is a regular thing or not.
Would recommend to younger types looking to enjoy the atmosphere on the Montmarte area without being right in the thick of it too much.
My daughter and I spent a week in Paris this September. We stayed at the hotel Basile for the entire time. The hotel is clean, efficient, and has a great location. The staff was helpful. The rooms are small, but laid out well.

Good location for sight-seeing, shopping and side trip, short walk to Train station (St. Lazare). Located in 2nd arrondissement, Opera house is a block away, and walking to River Seine and Louvre is about 10 minutes away. The bus 42 which leaves from Gare de Nord towards Eiffel tower side is right in front of the hotel. The bus passes a lot of interesting sites (Madeleine Church, Concorde area, the Petite/Grand Palace, along Champ Elysees with glimpse of the Arc de Triomphe then crosses the river Seine towards Eiffel tower...) We also walked from hotel to Rue des Martyra in 5 minutes.
My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights during a Euro Trip, the hotel is perfect for a stay in Paris.
The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. There was shopping and restaurants all in walking distance. The chocolate Museum is even in walking distance. The metro is also close and very easy to navigate to get to all the other big attractions.
