"What a stunning property! We stayed for two nights after a few days in Asheville and were just in awe of the view, in fact most of our time was spent on the chairs on the deck admiring the mountains. It was an adventure getting to the house, the hosts left very clear and helpful instructions. There is a house right next door which we weren’t expecting, but was still very private. Would 100% recommend to friends and would visit again without hesitation. Also Old Fort was very small but the restaurants were a very pleasant surprise, very fun to explore the town and Black Mountain. "

"Bair Necessities is a beautiful property with lots of great features. The living areas and bedrooms are all very spacious and inviting. We spent lots of time playing games in the living room around the fireplace. The game room down stairs is a great feature if you have kids. Ours spent hours playing, ping pong, foosball and darts. The hot tub was a great place to relax and refresh after a couple of the challenging hikes we did in the area. The kitchen is nicely appointed with everything you need to cook a meal, whether you are cooking on the stove top, oven or using the Black Stone grill outside. We made almost every meal we ate at the property and everything we needed from, pots, pans, knives, dishes, baking sheets, and even spices were supplied. If you're looking to eat out, Black Mountain and Old Fort both have some nice restaurants with surprisingly diverse fare. Bair Necessities has a list of restaurants in their Home Manual. The two we tried, Pure and Proper and The Bush were both excellent. Bair Necessities definitely gives you the sense of solitude you are looking for. There are several other properties within a few hundred yards but we never heard and rarely saw any neighbors. It is quiet, peaceful and picturesque. The star gazing is top notch. Overall I would highly recommend this property."

"This places checks all the boxes when looking for somewhere for a family with teenagers to stay. The pool table and hot tub were a huge it. And I wanted an amazing view!!! I can't even describe the view, but I will say you have to see it for yourself!! We had a slight issue getting the door unlocked but messaged the number provided and they called within about 10 minutes. They were able to remedy the situation quickly and got us enjoying our vacation!! "

"Overall, the house was nice. It could use some upgrades, however. The upstairs bathroom toilet would get stuck when flushed. We took a few cold showers because the hot water would run out. The doors to the outside were difficult to open and lock. The house needs maintenance. "

"The Gem is not only clean and spacious but includes everything for our family to enjoy a mountain getaway. The kitchen was well equipped for large meals. The bed were very comfortable and the endless amenities made our stay perfect. The game room, the hot tub, the yard and views were amazing! We would highly recommend the property!
