We have a large screen TVs for sports lovers (Direct TV Plus) in the Family Room and Basement Recreation area. We also have a full size "Old School" arcade console with over 95+ video games. If you like foosball, Ping-Pong, board games or books, we have that too. There are Bluetooth speakers that guests can connect to anytime to play your favorite music in the kitchen & game room. Our gated community is entirely paved so you will not need an all-wheel or four-wheel drive car. The oversized driveway is not steep and can easily accommodate up to 8 cars. Diamond Ridge is truly a unique mountain retreat that you never need to leave. Because of its one-of-a-kind location, there are literally 360-degree views from the oversized windows and expansive decks. There are spectacular views of Mt. Mitchell, Grandfather Mountain, Chimney Rock, Linville Gorge, Lake Lure and Hickory Nut Gorge to name a few. Being so close to the Pisgah National Forest, you have access to numerous hiking trails inside and outside of Catawba Falls Preserve. There are countless hiking trails, streams, rivers and waterfalls nearby. The most common animals that you may encounter while out and about are deer, wild turkeys, rabbits and birds that span the colors of the rainbow. At Diamond Ridge, you will feel a million miles away, but you are minutes from the cultural conveniences of Asheville & Black Mountain. All linens, blankets and towels are provided and we have an extra large Washer & Dryer for your use. We also have hair dryers for your use while visiting. The custom made (from reclaimed bowling alley lanes) dinning table really seats 16, there are 3 stools for seating at the kitchen bar and extra chairs and tables if needed for family gatherings. Steps from the cabin is a shed that has firewood for your use in the winter months. For outdoor grilling, we have a propane gas BBQ grill for you to use. SMART TV'S in all areas and bedrooms with unlimited YouTubeTV with tons of local and cable channels, and all the apps you expect, that you can access with your login/pw to use. There are Flat Screen TVs located in the family room, the lower level recreation area and ALL 5 Master Suites. The Wi-Fi Internet is provided through Sky Runner and works great for surfing the web, checking emails, and streaming. The house has a landline for unlimited U.S. telephone calls. Cell service depends on your carrier, but Verizon cellular service works best for mobile phones. We also have an outdoor gas fire table. PET POLICY: Up to 2 well behaved dogs MAX. After living in New York and South Florida for over 30 years, our family decided to move to the enchanting town of Asheville, NC to raise our children. We still love living in Asheville, but we wanted a mountain escape that our family could enjoy from time to time. After years of searching we found the perfect Mountain Top site to build our dream vacation and eventual retirement home that is in a gated community with paved roads and some of the most breathtaking views in North Carolina. The views did not disappoint. Some of our favorite things about the home:1\. The views from the home are breathtaking! We were able to watch the sunrise each morning. 2\. The check in process and communication with the owners was wonderful. We had a couple of questions during our stay and the owners responded very quickly.3\. The ping pong table, foosball table, and video game machine were big hits with the teens and young adults in the group!4\. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies needed for cooking meals at the house. 5\. The personal touches of the home owners was appreciated. That has not always been the case, and we were very pleased. It is on a mountain top with a wonderful view of the Appalachians. It was well worth getting up to see the sunrise over the mountains. Our family included two grandparents, a great aunt, our two children, their spouses, and four grandchildren ranging from 10 to 15 (three girls, one boy). We have stayed in this area multiple times. The Black Diamond Lodge is definitely the BEST! We loved the location as it has a trailhead to Upper Catawba Falls right behind the lodge. It is secluded enough to enjoy nature without being inconvenient to taking trips into town for needs. The layout of the lodge easily held our family and we actually could have had more people with us. The parking can hold several cars ( we have 3). Jason, our host, was easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed for our week. I highly recommend this lodge. ##### Kristie S. Having rented numerous houses in these mountains, I can easily say this was the best view of them all. Thirteen of us (with 2 dogs) celebrated a family Christmas that will go down in the history books as awesome. There was room for everyone to have his own space. The large square table was a real plus; we could all sit for a meal and actually converse with each other. The house is on top of the mountain about 25 minutes from Black Mountain (up a very curvy road). We considered this an asset because we were trying "to get away from it all." The weather was perfect. The location is a bit of a drive to get to other cities such as Chimney Rock, Asheville, and Black Mountain, but we got used it as it's a gorgeous drive no matter which direction you go. We had a blast in Apple Valley at both Stepps and Granddad's apple orchards, as well as the nearby winery/cidery. We also had a great time in Chimney Rock! The sunrise views cannot be beat. Our group enjoyed drinking coffee and watching the sunrise over the mountains each morning. There was plenty of room for our whole family and grandparents. The kids loved the bunk bed room and games! Highly recommend taking advantage of the handful of hiking trails that start at the trailhead near the bottom of the driveway. There is plenty to do at the property or right around the corner if you want to stay in, or everything else is a 25-30 minute drive. We'd definitely return to this property. ##### Jill W.
