The Literary Man was one of the most unique places I've ever stayed. It was so fun to explore the grounds, both inside and out, and our room was very good sized and beautifully maintained. The breakfast was top notch for a European style breakfast, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The hotel was charming and highlighted the historic nature of the town. We really enjoyed the concept of books lining the walls which added a uniqueness to the experience. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We also enjoyed the complimentary buffet breakfast which featured a large selection of delicious food. We also enjoyed ginja at the bar! Our only recommendation would be that the hotel replace the worn carpet leading up the stairs, otherwise, our one night stay was wonderful.

Of you are dropping in Obidos overnight you have to stay here. Breakfast was amazing and dinner, I highly recommend the filet. Service, staff, ambiance…. All absolutely amazing. Book lovers, over 90k books displayed.

We stayed at The Literary Man during our 2 week honeymoon in Portugal. It was such a unique and fun place to stay. The decor and books everywhere just added to the experience. With it right outside the walls of Obidos, it give you very quick access to everything g that Obidos has to offer plus it was away from the crowds. The staff were amazing and so helpful! The restaurant had great food and drinks! We would stay there again, without a doubt.

This is a convert old property, it is very unique and the walls are basically bookcases with a lot of books. The only issue we have is that there is no elevator since this is a very old house and we have to carry our heavy luggage up to the second floor. The breakfast was good. You go to Obidos to see old historical stuff and this place gives you the vibes of it. This place is located right outside the castle wall, and we had problem finding parking near the property.

I absolutely loved this hotel. Was my favorite hotel on a 3 month European tour. Obedias was a recommendation from friends I met along the way and it did not disappoint
