Clearly if you look at our past reviews you will see that this is an anomaly. We took this family in as a favor. They had two children and two dogs. She worked for the school district and couldn't find anyone who would take their dogs or a place they could afford. We gave them a very steep discount as I wanted to support our local schools. They said the dogs were a bit yippy but would settle down quickly and only bark when they were alone. And that there was only one time when they briefly expected them to be alone. We ended up having the two dogs bark throughout every day and many nights for two weeks. Any time I asked them to address the problem, they found something else that was problematic in the apartment.( Again, I encourage you to reference all our other guests!). And the ultimate irony was that on their final day, a Saturday when the wife was working at home, she complained to us because HER dogs wouldn't stop barking. What can I say? This was a situation of 'let no good deed go unpunished.' We are sorry they had such a bad experience. I can only say ours was worse.

Thanks for your nice comments. Ants seem to have taken over every house in the east bay! But we just found out about the mice and have contracted with a pest control company. We don't want to live with them either!
