  • Lovingly designed and built, with peaked ceilings, gas fireplace, radiant heat floors and wooden windows. Private patio area. Bedroom #1 with queen size bed. Bedroom #2/den has couch that converts to full-size bed. Day bed in living room has twin mattress. Full size appliances, fully equipped kitchen. Washer and dryer in cottage.

    Walking distance to College Avenue shops and restaurants, UC Berkeley and BART. Parking space included, but many people come without a car. Elmwood neighborhood has a library, bank, movie theater, 2 bookstores and many great restaurants and shops. Great location for visiting Berkeley, or as a base for exploring San Francisco and northern California.

This is a great value in South Berkeley. It’s in a quiet neighborhood with lots of restaurants/grocery stores nearby. It’s a 15 min walk to the BART and the owner was helpful but let us have privacy too!

Excellent Cottage and Host

The cottage is very nice and cozy. The host is very sweet and accommodating. We could easily walk to UC Berkeley, many restaurants around and shops - we didn't need a car until we went into SF. I hope to stay again.

Cottage delight

This Berkeley Cottage is located in a quiet neighbourhood with a nice shopping area nearby. It was the perfect place for us to recoup and enjoy some downtime while exploring the East Bay. We appreciated Patty’s hospitality and the parking space she made available to us.

Perfect location.

Patty has a great cozy place with all the amenities. Fantastic location. Shops and great food options around the corner. 20 min stroll through Berkeley to get to campus. Patty made everything easy.

Patty was a wonderful, kind, and attentive host. The property is a great little find within a beautiful Berkeley neighborhood. Although it's behind the main house, there was sufficient privacy — and a lovely little garden. My only contention was that it wasn't perfectly clean. The bathroom in particular (shower and laundry machine) had quite a bit of human and dog hair. The furniture and appliances are also older and evidently used. That said, this doesn't detract from the home's functionality. All in all, we were grateful to stay here — and we appreciated Patty's hospitality. If you are looking for an affordable and relatively spacious stay in Berkeley, I would recommend it.

Serene getaway

Patty is a lovely host, and the cottage was quiet, spacious, and cozy! The high ceilings make the space airy and bright. You can tell that the cottage was put together with thoughtfulness and love in the details. I hope to be back sometime!

Family get together

Our family came to Berkeley to visit our sister and her family. The location and accommodations were perfect. Patty is an amazing host. Greeted us on our arrival and instructions were easy to understand. My dad has mobility issues so we loved the easy access as well as excellent security. Thank you, Patty, for a lovely visit!

Great stay in Patty's blue cottage

My sister and I loved our stay in Patty's blue cosy cottage. Lovely place with all amenities. Lovely little kitchen where we cooked several times, and a nice spot in the garden to enjoy our food. We loved walking up and down College Av. - lots of small local shops and great places to enjoy a bite. Definitely coming back! Camilla from Denmark.

Peaceful Retreat

Cottage location is serene and contains every convenience. The host is gracious and responsive, for example when there was an area outage of the internet, she sent us a text right away. In addition, the local restaurants are nearby and delish! (Especially Summer Kitchen on Collage!)

It was comfortable & cute, but yard, small that we knew, wasn't quite what we expected for sitting out there if wanted to. Not kept up. We pretty much stayed there for location for graduation & area. Great for walking & restaurants/coffee shops.

Cosy cottage

After seven years, we returned to Ms. Patty's cottage to accompany our youngest son to UC Berkeley. The place is really delightful and close to all College Avenue services and amenities. Although we no longer have "college-age children", we hope to have the opportunity to be her guests again. Thank you very much Patty.

Excellent, fully-equipped kitchen and laundry with efficient washer and dryer. Pantry had some condiments, coffee, and tea, so it was not necessary to shop for these items in order to dine in. Location is in a beautiful, quiet residential neighborhood, but convenient to interesting shops, restaurants, and a variety of good carry-outs for sushi, salads, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Middle Eastern, ice cream--all within a five to ten minute walk.Rooms were clean, well-arranged, and very comfortable, with many seating areas. The cottage has lovely natural light, ventilation, and a garden.

Great location, wonderful space

This is a small cottage behind the main house in my favorite Berkeley neighborhood (walk to the movie theater, bakeries, coffee shops, grocery store). I liked the radiant heating and warm floor in the winter, comfortable bed with great linens, and lots of light yet private. It's no longer new, and some of the furnishing is showing its age, but I found the place very comfortable. Parking in the driveway was great, as parking can be tight in this area. Patty was an excellent host.

Always a winner

We have stayed with "Miss Patty" a number of times over a number of years. We have all that we need, especially her garden at the front door of the cottage with shady places to read and a patio table on which to play cards with our grandchildren. Easy walk to College Ave. Always a winner.
