Waterfront home on the lake shore of Beautiful Lake Memphremagog, Newport, VT.

10/10 Excellent

"This cottage on the lake is peaceful, private and comfy. Very clean, kitchen is stocked. Awesome views. Beds were comfortable. Close to Newport City. Hosts are friendly and kind. We will be back."

"The room was clean, but dated. Cracked tile in bath, although sinks and showers were new. Bath amenities we lacking. Small shampoo & lotion w/small bar of soap. No body wash or hair conditioner. Entry door had cracks in molding where old locks use to be, but new locks have been added. Nice porch /deck out back, but nothing to sit on to enjoy view. Breakfast was literally grab & go. Bagels, toast, couple of cereal choices and apples. There is a waffle maker, but nothing else as far as something cooked. Carpet need a good shampoo or replaced w/vinyl flooring. Walked around w/socks on and they were dirty when removing for bed. Fridge w/freezer section was a plus. we could re-freeze our ice packs for cooler. Microwave large enough to reheat items. Overall all would rate a 3.5-4 out of 5 stars, would stayed again for an overnight. Reasonably priced for short term visit."

"What a great place to stay. Owner Joesph and his nephew Jay greeted me at the front desk. Offered to help me with bags to my room. Took me to my room to make sure everything was good. Room was clean and well appointed. The onsite tavern was top notch with a bunch of locals. Lots of beer and great food. Book here and you won’t be disappointed. Gas station across street for quick fill up before getting on the road."

"We all had a fantastic time and I tend to be very particular but with everything included - the private beach with dock, the large front lawn and porches for our two grandsons to play will instill a memory for them to always remember. The inside had just been painted this past Spring and looked so professional. It was so clean and was so easy to ask questions and get answers, etc, etc. I even watched the beautiful sunset each night. Can’t say enough!!"

"This was a perfect vacation for our family of 14 ranging in age from 15 months to 90 yo. Although the posted VRBO pictures were beautiful it didn't come close to the actual home and area. The house is spacious, immaculate with lots of country charm. Close by are hiking and cycling trails, fishing and lake activities. The property is dotted with blueberry, raspberry and fruit trees. Greatgram got to see a moose and Liam got awakened by a visiting turkey outside his bedroom. We rarely strayed away from the house, but when we did the surrounding towns were within 20-30 minutes. Our two daughters had a ball in the enormous country kitchen with every gadget imaginable. Tom, the owner, went beyond our past experience with VRBO hosts with communications to prepare us for the week and suggestions to consider once on-site. Don’t miss out on the Hardwick Farmers Market on Friday afternoon. Will we return, we’re already counting down the days. Sue and Bob 7/2026"
