The room wasn't serviced during our stay. Wifi could seldom be accessed. Toilet often needed flushing more than once. Wash Basin Taps were difficult to turn on and particularly off. No glass to rinse your mouth out after cleaning your teeth. £147 for 2-nights is grossly over priced when the board on the side of the A47 says rooms from £39.95, which would be more realistic for this particular lodge. Website showed croissants to be available for breakfast, but there never was any.

Amazing hotel. The cleanest hotel iv every stayed in wow. The bed was sooooo good.

Located in a quiet and secluded spot six miles outside Oakham, The Old Pheasant Hotel appeared to be the perfect place for a relaxing short break. This proved not to be the case as we were unable to get a decent nights sleep. The bed and room itself were comfortable but the room temperature was unbearable. On entering the room the display read 29 degrees, followed by 27/28 degrees throughout the next day and 26/27 degrees on our final day! Unfortunately, fully opening the small window was impossible due to a security wire. When we raised this we were met with an abrupt response by the manager who quoted safety concerns. Ultimately, there is no excuse for subjecting guests to this level of discomfort, as small portable air conditioning units can be purchased quickly and at very little cost. We were taken aback by the officious manner of the manager who on our arrival bombarded us with information, which was unwelcome after a long journey, also requesting we confirm our breakfast choices by completing a questionnaire covering each day of our stay. Breakfast was adequate but concerns were repeatedly raised due to the undercooked eggs, which was at a time when there was a national salmonella outbreak in eggs. Other negatives which were relatively minor but could be easily corrected were the tiny TV screen, extremely poor wi-fi reception, broken bathroom extractor fan and lack of decent pillows. We will return to the area, particularly Stamford, but not The Old Pheasant Hotel.

Nice place

Great hotel. Should be 4 star not 2 star. Staff were exceptionally helpful and rooms were great, would not hesitate to stay here again. Hopefully they do dinner next time.
