Welcome Respite
We had driven down from Sacramento to take a day tour at Yosemite. It was lovely to arrive to such a welcoming space and rest up for our tour. The cookies left were amazing. After our tour it was wonderful to retire and relax after a very busy day to prepare for our return to Sacramento. A nice getaway weekend.

Cute, rural property, far from the crowds. Lovely hosts. Very relaxing. About 30 minutes to Yosemite park gates, 90 minutes to the valley. It worked well for us visiting the valley. Microwave, aircon, etc.

Wonderful!
My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights and it was so great! Everything was very clean and the communication and attention were spectacular! About a 40-50min drive to get to Yosemite in December. Definitely recommend staying here.

Brett & Jan are exceptional at anticipating ALL of the needs that might be needed or appreciated by their guests, as well as being available to accommodate any questions. We felt super comfortable and relaxed from the time we opened the door ! Quiet nights and good bed made for good sleep! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best stay for couples and quick trip
We had a wedding to attend in Bass Lake and decided to spend the day in Yosemite. The home was so nice, cozy, and comfortable with a good view from the window. It felt like we were between Bass Lake and Yosemite. We had everything we needed for a quick getaway. It felt so private and the area is nice and quiet. At night you get a beautiful view of the stars. Our hosts were quick to respond to any questions we had before our trip. We would definitely love to come back and stay here.

WOW! Awesome place!
First off what everyone says about the cookies is true. Amazing!! We were lucky enough to stay at the time that plums were ready to pick and Janel told us to help ourselves. We picked a few and had them as snacks while hiking at Yosemite and they wrre yummy. Great hospitality. The room was spotless when we arrived and was perfect for our stay. We hope to stay again soon.

Hidden gem
We had a wonderful stay! On arrival, we were greeted with yummy cookies, which was a nice surprise after a long drive. The property was spotless - very clean and fresh. We had everything we needed, including plenty of help and advice on-hand from Janel! After long days trekking through Yosemite, we felt comfortable and relaxed in the property, and had a good night’s sleep. We would definitely come back when visiting the area - excellent hosts, comfortable and spacious property, with fantastic proximity to Bass Lake and Yosemite!

Wonderful
Stepping into the studio for first time we were so happy to see a very clean, spacious unit. It had everything we needed and more. Bed was comfortable which was a huge plus since we were hiking everyday in Yosemite and needed good nights sleep. The air conditioner worked exceptionally well and cooked fast! The shower was perfect also! I really can’t think of anything we didn’t like! The owners thought of everything. Would definitely stay here again!

This apartment has beautiful furnishings done to represent what a person would expect living by Yosemite National Park. There were many little extras that I didn’t expect such as the homemade cookies. Extremely clean and well thought out.

Cute, cozy, clean apartment. Hosts were super nice. Nice country view to enjoy while drinking your coffee in the morning. We will definitely stay here again.

Lovely guest house
The guest house was roomy and in spite of very hot weather (low 90s), it stayed cool from insulation, a great a/c unit, and at night, with fresh air from the windows. The owner thoughtfully supplied different kinds of coffee for the Keurig coffee maker, and we enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie that awaited our arrival. Owners were the perfect blend of helping host without being intrusive.

Labor Day Getaway
We had a wonderful time staying at Bret and Janell’s property. They were wonderful hosts. The guest house was perfect for the four of us. Bass Lake was an easy 10 minute drive away where we enjoyed spending our afternoons. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay! Clean, comfortable, more spacious then I expected. Very close to Bass Lake but quieter. We saw deer in the driveway and the dark skies can’t be beat. Dogs were sweet. It was hit outside but the AC worked great. The Welcome cookie was one of the best I have ever had. I need the recipe.

Highest Rated place, people, and experience! A Million Stars.
Bret and Janel are outstanding hosts. The house was perfect for us. It was clean, had lots of room, and had a nice view of all the wildlife in the mornings. We saw deer, rabbits, quail, and a mom and baby turkey almost every day. Bret and Janel were very helpful with places to go and things to do. They even helped with our laundry. Communication was quick and easy. Over our 11 day stay in we became good friends. Yes the cookies were amazing. The buttered tortilla breakfast we had together the last day has become a regular treat for us at home. We would love to stay here again. Thank you so much. Shaun and Michelle

Wonderful place, amazingly kind hosts
This place was so warm and cozy! The hosts went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. We got in late our first night and the amazing cookie that has been talked about in other reviews was waiting for us and made us feel right at home. The place was so clean and had everything we could need and then some. Communication from Bret was outstanding. One night after a long day at Yosemite, we again were arriving late and were exhausted and once Bret found out, he kindly offered leftovers from their family meal! Our only regret is that we were out so early in the morning and home so late at night from Yosemite days that we didn’t get to connect with Bret and Janel very much. They seem like just wonderful people and you really feel that when you stay here. Would highly recommend this place for anyone interested in the area. If we ever come back, there’s no question this will be the place we stay!

A well maintained and appointed unit that is very comfortable, and is quiet and in a very relaxed environment. The owners are very friendly and helpful. It is very easy to navigate to and from this location.

Great place to unwind!! We absolutely loved it - Janel and Bret are amazing hosts
Beautiful little get-a-way. Peaceful with extremely caring and genuine hosts. Wild life is around - we sat and watched quail and mule deer one night. Close to the south entrance of Yosemite and other hikes are close by as well. Due to the fire in Yosemite the south entrance was closed when we were here but Bret and Janel explained other options, and we were still able to access Yosemite. We appreciated their help. We loved that we were able to connect with our hosts and shoot the breeze one night. So thankful for the humour, genuineness and care they shared.

A Jewel In The Woods
What a lovely place with the friendliest doggies who live people. We looked for a place to stay somewhere between Fresno and Yosemite. Thus was perfect. We checked out Bass Lake and spent a day in awesome Yosemite. Our cabin was perfect and can't think of a thing that wasn't in the cabin. Our hosts were amazing and the fresh cookies so welcoming. Hope we can return.

Relaxing Getaway
Went here to relax and get out of the busy city and be close to Yosemite. It was perfect size and location. Hosts were super warm and friendly (people and dogs) and would recommend this place for a quiet getaway.

Easy gentle stay
The place was cozy and exactly what we needed. The hosts were very kind and easy going. They were quick with responses and understanding. The pictures show an actual coffee maker, but they have a Keurig now. We will stay again.

Very cozy and nice place to stay! The owner really put in a lot of effort to make sure everything is clean and comfortable. She even baked us fresh cookies! You can park right in front near the door. It’s a keyless entry so the access is easy. We had a great stay and we were able to visit Yosemite for a couple of days. Thank you for an awesome visit!

At least as good as gold
The apartment is way more comfortable and equipped than the photos reveal. Could have easily passed a white-glove inspection and was super easy to find. A nothing drive to the lake and beautiful day hikes from the apartment. Bret and Janel just might be two of the finest hosts south of the North Pole. Super clear and quick communication during the booking; greeted us upon arrival; and were available if needed. Delightful experience.

We booked this spot as a home base for a weekend trip to Yosemite. The drive was a little longer that we had wanted but the area was awesome. The apartment was clean and comfortable and the owners were very friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful property and great hosts!
My husband and I were in town for the Yosemite Half Marathon and this home was a wonderful and serene place for us to rest at night as we prepared for the race! The space itself is exactly as described and the hosts were always available to answer any questions. They even made us homemade cookies and had them on the table when we arrived! We would definitely stay again!

perfect cozy apartment!
This apartment was perfect, i definitely would stay here again. It's clean and quite comfortable, feeling cozy and spacious at the same time (there were 3 of us). We especially appreciated the coffee machine. The property is beautiful, with several seating areas and a little walking path to a nearby creek. The hosts were friendly and accommodating - thank you for the wonderful stay! (and for the amazing sourdough bread!!)

Gorgeous property, comfortable unit, kindest hosts
Janelle greeted us outside right when we pulled up and kindly made herself available for any questions. She had baked us chocolate chip cookies which were ready in the perfectly clean and comfortable unit. We were invited to explore the property and enjoyed reading near the creek. They also have a firepit with swinging benches and a swing with a great lawn. Kids would love this place! We enjoyed chatting with Janelle and Bret, they are so friendly and just wonderful people. They were an abundance of information about the area and dining options too. Definitely want to come back here!

Home away from home!
We loved this place! We attended at concert at Bandit Town and found the perfect place to stay, only 5 minutes away. All the amenities we needed and a comfy & clean place. Bret and Janel were super friendly, even though we didn’t get to speak with them too much (our personal agenda fell behind schedule and couldn’t stay longer). We communicated without any issues via messages. They went above and beyond for us and appreciated their hospitality. The morning we left, I enjoyed my cup of coffee outside with the crisp air and sweet serenity. Loved it and will definitely come back next year!
