Santa Lucia is in a superb location in the very heart of the Old Town of Nice, a short walk from the beach, Cours Saleya and Place Rosetti. At night you can sit under the window, perhaps enjoying a glass of locally produced rose wine, whilst listening to the chatter in the street below. Or if you want perfect peace, just close the original shutters and double glazed windows, and the chatter fades away. Santa Lucia is a one bed, one bath apartment which has been lovingly renovated in a fresh style, whilst keeping as many of its original features as possible. The fireplace, tomette floor, doors, shutters and painted beams are all original leaving the apartment bursting with character. We did have some noise from building work in the block and the apartment above starting around 8.00 and people returning from the night clubs at 3 .00 so not one for the light sleepers. You can also stroll through the park on the way to Place Massena and Garabaldi Square is quite close. It's a in a great location for exploring Nice and it should be noted that it is on a pedestrian only street, which is important to know if you are ubering from the airport. The living room has nice windows and there is a couch and chairs to relax in. The kitchen has all one needs for light cooking. The Nespresso maker was very nice. The bathroom has cabinet space for all one's toiletries. The bedroom has a wardrobe with lots of hangers (always a plus!) We were in Nice during a heat wave and the two standing fans kept us comfortable with the open windows. The only drawback being the open windows at night as it is in a lively area. We used our earplugs and that mitigated the noise enough to sleep. The host's notebook was very helpful and the dining recommendations very nice. Communication was easy and questions responded to right away. Staying here was a great choice. We felt immersed in Nice culture. We can't wait to return! ##### sioux o. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but your view will depend on whether you prefer (1) being in the heart of vibrant, lively Nice old town or (2) having a quiet relaxing stay. This is because the apartment is not air-conditioned and we were there during some very hot weather, so that we had to keep the windows open at night. This meant that it could be very noisy. Communication was very good with both the owner and property manager. The new washing machine didn’t work, but they tried to get it fixed. When they couldn’t, they gave me a small refund, which was very gracious. Great shops and restaurants nearby. Minutes from the beach and a close and direct walk to the stairs up to an amazing view over the city and Mediterranean. Be sure to lower the mosquito screen. I did but it must have snapped open in the night. I had a visit from a pigeon very early in the morning. Thankfully it escaped on its own, though it came very close to getting hit by the ceiling fan. It made for a few frantic moments, but we were wide awake and ready for the day after it left! Would definitely stay here again. ##### Peter D.
