Straddling New York State and the Canadian province of Ontario, Niagara Falls is a collective term for three distinct waterfalls and is one of the most popular natural wonders in the world. American and Bridal Veil Falls are smaller and sit entirely within the United States, while the wide, deafening Horseshoe Falls lie mostly within Canada. On your holiday at Niagara Falls, make sure you stand by the precipice to see millions of litres of water tumble over the rock face every second, creating the plumes of mist that can be seen for miles around.
During the 20th century, the twin cities of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Niagara Falls, New York, experienced rapid growth to accommodate the increasing number of holidaymakers. Today, you can choose from a wide range of holiday hotels, motels and B&Bs, and enjoy the many casinos, amusement arcades, shopping malls, theatres and theme parks a short walk from the falls themselves.
Don a poncho and take a boat tour to experience the sheer spectacle of Horseshoe Falls head-on. The roar and the water has to be seen and heard to be believed. Alternatively, stay dry and enjoy panoramic views of all three falls from the Skylon Tower observation deck or aboard a helicopter tour. Or walk down through the bedrock on the Journey Behind the Falls experience, and see this force of nature from two portals directly behind the falls.
While you’re on holiday in Niagara Falls, spend some time exploring Niagara’s wine region and its pretty waterfront towns, such as Niagara-on-the-Lake. Cycle waterfront paths and hike the boardwalk along the Niagara Gorge, or stop off at a nearby winery for a tasting while you taste locally created dishes. Linking Lake Ontario to Lake Erie, the Niagara Parkway runs along the eastern side of the Niagara River and makes for a scenic afternoon drive.
Many people choose to visit Niagara Falls on a day trip from Toronto, but with a range of budget, mid-range and upscale accommodation in the immediate area, you can make a holiday in Niagara Falls and really explore the region.
My kids loved the pool, arcade and Rainforest Cafe (that’s attached to the hotel) every thing was well kept . The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. Everything is within walking distance of the hotel only 5-10 minute walk to falls. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit ...
The hotel was enjoyable. The room was very clean and the mattresses were fantastic. We enjoyed the bar and restaurant. The staff were friendly. The location is very good; 2 blocks or so to the Falls park.
Nice big rooms with good view. Didnt like the spiders in the room
This was the best choice we could have ever made for our honeymoon!!!! Plan to return as soon as we can!
