It's the Waldorf! Old fashioned service and comfort. My only complaint is the lack of attentiveness at the Peacock restaurant in the main lobby. Hostess disappeared and never came back.

Poor arrival service with UN Meeting in NY

Posted 26-Sep-2016
No service in Park Avenue entrance and staff. After carrying luggage to inspection had to carry bags up the front steps. No hotel staff or supervision. Had to ask for bellman at front desk after registering. Crowded first two days until session ended on Friday. Stay clear of the hotel during these days in the future. Expedia should warn guest in the future.

Beautiful Hotel, great location

Posted 19-Sep-2016
We stayed at the Waldorf for three nights to attend a wedding. We flew from California and arrived at 7:00 am. The front desk, Mr. Mokhtar, did everything he could to get us a room at no extra charge within an hour. I loved the old world charm of the hotel, wide hallways and beautiful details. Will definitely come back again!

Nice hotel, but too busy.

Posted 19-Sep-2016
Pros: Convenient location. Posh.
Cons: Registration can be quicker. Elevator waits improved, parking rates cheaper and free Wi-Fi.
Location: Centrally located.
Weekend stay. Unfortunately there was a bomb explosion in the Chelsea area of Manhattan and President Obama was in town for a UN meeting, so security was extremely tight. Bags were checked going into hotel.

Close to everything in Mid-Town Manhattan

Posted 14-Sep-2016
Pros: Staff were helpful and very pleasant.
Cons: Needs restorative work to return to former glory
Location: Central Park, Museums, fabulous restaurants, shopping.
Easy walking distance to most points of interest. Nice, if somewhat tired, classic NYC atmosphere.

Posted 12-Sep-2016
Pros: Das Ambiente
Cons: Einen deutschsprachigen Mitarbeiter einstellen.
Da muss man vorausschauend handeln.

I booked the Waldorf as a surprise for my husbands 50th and we were not dissapointed From the moment we got there the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful even upgrading our room and leaving cupcakes and a birthday card! we were close to great places to eat and easy walk to most tourist sites. For a special trip this is truly a wonderful place to stay
