Huge disappointment

Posted 29-Aug-2015
Cons: Renovate the rooms!!
Location: Great location.
We were excited to be staying at the Waldorf Astoria but, once we saw the condition of the room the excitement ended. I am really surprised that anyone would vote higher than 3 stars for this hotel unless their are rooms that have been updated. The room was dirty and the wallpaper, ac unit cover and carpet were in terrible shape. We walked in to sunflower seeds on the carpet in the middle of the room. I'm not sure how they missed not seeing them. The desk had a sticky brown substance on it and that stickiness was also on the pen located on the same desk and a pen and paper located on one nightstand. It takes a lot for me to get grossed out and this did it. This is the first time I have experienced anything like it in All the hotels I have stayed in. I was more surprised that this would happen at the Waldorf Astoria. The rooms need desperate renovations. I would never stay there again. When we checked out I deceived not to say anything because I knew that I would never be back there but, my Husband did say something. The fact that my Husband even said anything speaks volumes as he is so laid back and doesn't get bothered by much. I'm usually the one that says anything when we are away. They apologized and said they would inform housekeeping.

Had an amazing stay at the Waldorf Astoria.

What a beautiful hotel, stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. Eating and drinking is a little expensive but plenty of option outside of hotel. You have to pay for wifi, in my opinion a hotel such as this should provide free wifi ( I had my own internet so didn't apply ) I read up on the hotel before I went and a lot of people comment on the age and decor of the hotel, if you want modern go somewhere else. The hotel wouldn't be The Waldorf if it looked any other way.

A great place to call base.

Pros: The is a lot to be said for claiming you stayed at the "Waldorf"
Cons: Rooms are so dated
Location: A great location for eating and also walking. Bloomingdales is just round the corner and up a few blocks.
If you like aged infrastructure then this is the place to be. No regrets but no chance we would stay here again. We need modern up to date rooms that can handle today's tech.

Fenster aus Papier

Posted 28-Aug-2015
Pros: Stil, Tradition
Cons: Schallschutz der Fenster
Location: Liegt sehr zentral.
Alles in allem wunderbar!

Posted 28-Aug-2015
Pros:

Beautiful Hotel, Ten Minute Walk to Time Square

Posted 25-Aug-2015
Pros: Clean hotel, beautiful lobby, very generous with the plush towels
Cons: Missed having a clock radio & coffee maker in the room
Location: Great location, just ten minutes to get to the action. Far enough away from Time Square to not be crushed by the large crowds!
Great hotel close to Rockefeller Center & Grand Central Station. Rooms were decent size but double beds are way too small-should be replaced with queen size. Good size bathrooms but as usually always lacking counter or shelving space. Overall pleasant experience & would definitely stay there again.
