Beau Chene is located in Slidell a Suburb of New Orleans. It is located 27 miles from the French Quarter and is an easy drive on I-10. The home is a five bedroom home with two large bedrooms and three smaller bedrooms. The home has been completely renovated in 2019 and everything in it is new. Designer furniture throughout professionally planned and implemented. Beautiful accent pieces and art work. Large living room with big screen TV. New appliances and kitchen accessories. Cozy reading room facing the water. Large deck with multiple sofas and plush chairs. Large out door dining table for outdoor dining. Beautiful Large oak tree overhanging the deck providing a great shaded seating area. The deck is only 15 feet from the water. There is huge 60 ft. dock with deep water access via boat. Bring your boat and kids and swim, ski, fish and boat in Lake Pontchartrain. The lake is a 5 minute boat ride from the dock. There is a large deck that has seating for eight and extra chairs for overflow. The home is 7 minutes from some of the best fishing in the country. You can even fish right off the dock in the front yard. There is phenomenal fishing in the Rigolets nearby with incredible salt water fishing and access to fresh water fishing within 20 minutes by boat.
You can play in the water or on the boat all day and hit the French Quarter at night for great fun and partying like no where else. You can catch an Uber, Taxi or drive. Great from two couples or a family. There is a sleeper sofa for over flow sleeping in the living room. The home has a nicely stock kitchen with all new appliances. There is a double oven and large stove. The home has a large working fire place and large dinning room with a table that expands to seat 8. Great for family get together and large meals.
The home has 2 king bed, 2 queen bed, two bunk beds, 1 queen sleeper sofa. Sleeps 12. No pets allowed. We will allow one certified service dog with appropriate certification papers but only with a $250 non refundable carpet cleaning fee. Multiple service animals are not allowed.

The house was in a great location if you are looking for day trips into the city and outside excursions. Great for families with kids. House is a bit dated…but clean and has everything needed.
What a wonderful house it was beautiful and had plenty of space for us all. Perfect for a large family. We had beautiful weather and loved sitting out on the patio. The drive way is steep so if you are in a sedan the bottom will scrape but the SUV was fine.
It was a really great house for our group of 8 to come back to after hitting the city. It was stocked with everything. We really enjoyed the deck. Big pretty home.

Lovely home, unfriendly neighborhood
The home and setting were perfect for our extended family. Unfortunately, the neighborhood is in a law suit with the owner and one neighbor is especially hostile. The advertised boat was not there. No discount was offered. We had plumbing problems which the property manager was quick to address.
Lisa's home is absolutely amazing. There were 7 of us who traveled from The Bahamas for my 40th birthday. We hired a private chef who came each morning to do a breakfast spread and that was awesome as the kitchen was huge and made it easy. The rooms are so nicely spread out we did not feel like we were on top of one another.
Lisa was easy going and the house is in tip top shape. We spent most of our time at the house as this was a real vacation getaway from husbands and kids! After spending a few hours each day in the city, it was refreshing to go home to a peaceful quiet neighborhood.
The only thing I would recommend is including instructions on using the thermostat. It took some time and became a little frustrating trying to figure it out as it was not your average system setup.
I would definitely recommend this beautiful home to anyone who wants to truly relax and get away!
The house was perfect! Plenty of space for a big group. The house was stocked with everything we needed. We had a full schedule while we were there, wish we had more time to spend at the house!
This property is quite lovely with a very relaxing outdoor setting. It's close to New Orleans so you can easily make a day trip to the city. There was a few things that needed to be cleaned, replaced or fixed on the property (a ceiling fan, coffee maker, dish towels...) but nothing that would stop you from enjoying your stay (at least not for us.). Our only issues was a water main that broke and shut down the water for the neighborhood for a number of hours. We made due with getting gallons of water from the grocery store. The other issue was the sign on the neighbors property saying "VRBO renters not are not welcome" and another sign stating that the person that owes the property is in violation of court order and we could be evicted and him fined $500 a day. Not something you want to see while on vacation. We didn't have any problems with the neighbors but we were a quit group.
We had a great time making family & friends memories to cherish forever. Beautiful location, property and quiet neighborhood. This is our first time staying in Louisiana and I’m sure we will be back!! Excellent area for a family to stay when visiting New Orleans. Best Regards
This property was clean and quiet. The neighbor had some signs indicating his dislike of being next to a VRBO, but he didn't cause us any issues. It's within a 30 minute drive to the French quarter, so close enough to go daily without being in the hustle and bustle of NOLA. The view is fantastic. The driveway is quiet steep if you have a lower sitting car, so be conscious of the angle you pull in. We found the upstairs bathtub to be very slick. But overall I would definitely stay at this location again. It was competitively priced for the location and had enough room for us all.
My family simply enjoyed Ms.Howell’s home. The pictures are exactly as it is when you walk in . The check-is process is very convenient. The location of the house on the water is fantastic. Ms. Howell was very polite and professional. We would truly stay at this property if we were to have another family vacation. The home is amazing.

Our entire family loved this house. It was conveniently located, close to the interstate. Being able to fit our large group on the back patio without feeling like we were on top of each other was a huge plus. A couple of things to be aware of, although this wouldn't discourage me from renting again, but more like side notes...The neighborhood makes it very clear that they don't want short term renters there. A big sign when you drive in as well as signs pointed directly at this house did not make us feel welcomed. The driveway is very steep, if you have a car you may have to park in the street to keep from bottoming out. Also, the manager of the property must manage many properties, because they had a difficult time answering specific questions about the property. Lastly, you must pay a deposit AND pay for insurance, which wasn't listed under the total price until after I started the rental process. Again, all just little things that I would have liked to have known beforehand, but still would have rented.
Location (if you don't want to be in the heart of the city) is perfect. Short ride to the NO city attractions and a short ride to the gulf beaches to the east. One neighbor definitely does not like the VRBO but he never bothered us. Off the water so watch it with little kids but the elevated deck (we had a 2 and 5 year old) made it easier to keep them away and watch them.
Really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. It was perfect for our family. There is plenty of space to spread out, dishes and cookware provided, and the view in back is awesome. Although the neighbors sign "VRBO Renters not welcomed" was a little off putting at first, we still managed to enjoy ourselves.
Wonderful home, spacious and extremely clean. Very peaceful neighborhood. Had an issue with Pontoon boat rental, we think it was double booked. But the back deck made up for any inconvenience. Close to New Orleans, traveled there for Mardi Gras, about 45 minutes in traffic. Renters should know that the driveway is on a steep incline. We would stay again and recommend it to anyone looking at this area.
