  • Nestled on 12 acres, the house is surrounded by a beautiful pine forest and offers an amazing retreat from the hustle-bustle of life. Located conveniently between Salida and Buena Vista, you are close to wonderful restaurants, breweries, art galleries, and many festivals. Step out the door of this amazing Mesa Antero neghborhood home and hike into the San Isabel National Forest from your doorstep. Designed by an architect and a professional designer, the house has a very open floor plan with gorgeous windows and plenty of natural light. Although the house officially sleeps 6, there are multiple other spaces in the house including a music room and two lofts, and a gorgeous sun room. Relax on the 1,000+ square feet of deck space and enjoy the gurgling music of Browns Creek in the valley below or spend time in the well-equipped kitchen whipping up fabulous meals. The unlimited data plan (internet) means your family can surf the web with ease when you aren't out exploring. Chaffee County delivers plenty of fun: hiking, skiing, rafting, and fishing just to name a few. Don't forget to hit one of the many hot springs in the area. Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort is a very short drive and definitely worth a visit. The resort offers exercise classes, massage and spa services, as well as a variety of hot springs and two swimming pools. Kitchen totally remodeled in June 2025, including new induction stove, Bosch dishwasher, etc. Cabinets hand-made locally by a woodworker in Salida.

Enjoyable stay

Great location in a quiet neighborhood conveniently located between BV and Salida. Easy access to all the fun, but a nice distance away from a lot of the tourist traffic. Host is great - very helpful and responsive.

Great Getaway in Nathrop!

The home is amazing. Plenty of space to spread out within the home and on the two connected decks. Also, more than enough space to come together as a large group. The home had more than enough items (entertainment, kitchen supplies, linens, etc.) than we needed for our stay. The home is very clean & well maintained. The home is in a quiet & secluded wooded area and is approximately 20 minutes away from both Buena Vista & Salida. Great location to visit either town while also being able to stargaze in the evening. We found the home to be an ideal stay for three couples or a family group of 6. We look forward to our next visit!

This house was wonderful! The host Todd was a big help with suggestions for things to do in the area and checked on us to make sure everything was good after we arrived. We felt like we were at home but with great views of mountains. The house has 3 bedrooms that were spaced out where you felt like you had lots of privacy. Beautiful views from several porches. The kitchen was well stocked and a chefs dream! We hope to come back to this house next year. The house was super clean and the host provided plenty of paper products, (tp, paper towels, garbage bags, etc) plus lots of spices, olive oil, even a restaurant style waffle maker that we used alot. And it is pet friendly!

Weekend getaway

Amazing house, so eclectic and so much personality. Equidistant to BV and Salida. 20 min either way. Brown creek falls 15 min drive-awesome 6 mile out and back with beautiful waterfall. Mt Princeton 15 min drive, great day at the hot springs for adults and kids. Lots of amazing games and movies to entertain us. Kitchen with high end appliances, everything we needed with abundance of utensils, mugs, plates, pans, etc. would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone wanting a place off the beaten path.

A Beautiful Get Away for a Family Vacation.

We were looking for some place to gather for a quiet family gathering that wasn't too far from towns and close to hiking and other outdoor recreations. This was perfect! The views were beautiful! We brought two dogs and they used both of the dog runs joyfully. The standout things were: Fully stocked pantry with some condiments in the fridge. EVERYTHING in the cabinets had a picture to help put things away! The outside decks were a wonderful addition that we used for dining and having our coffee in the morning. Numerous games were available to play. Music was available to play. Maps of various kinds and a book of information was also available. This house was a home...like visiting family. It was so thoughtfully set up, and Dave kept in touch with us by text which was really helpful. We had a glorious time!

What a gem!

The home was very clean, well-maintained and had all the amenities that we needed for the kitchen. It’s tucked away from the main road, which made for a very private deck and property. It’s a quick drive to the hot springs and about 20 minutes from BV. Super comfortable beds! The property manager was fantastic - he made sure we arrived safely and that we had everything we needed. We will be back!
