"The place was very nice. Things that we liked: It is walkable, it was quiet, cabin was clean and spacious, it had everything we needed, house keeping staff was very friendly and helpful, parking was great. We got text messages from the front desk regarding how to do things. ( how to check out, invitations to activities going on). Things we did not like: to use the gym you have to make reservations, only the swimming pools were visible no other amenities were marked or invited to use them. The cabin shakes when people walk around, it feels like there are small earthquakes going on often. But it happened around 3 and 4 in the morning too when we were asleep. Maybe there were small earthquakes those days because the shaking was strong enough to wake us up. We did not like that there is a walking path on one side of the property where people from the street can walk in. Over all it is a nice place to relax and to rest. If you want action you have to stay in a hotel closer to downtown."

"We stayed in the back cottage unit. The room was a beautiful French country stylish design. Ample space and privacy. Lots of room in the walk in closet and a jacuzzi tub big enough for 2. Very comfortable king size bed with fresh sheets daily and a very luxurious comforter. There is a lovely breakfast service in the main house with an option to sit and dine with other guests. Otherwise just a French press coffee in the room . The staff offers a butler like service. Very professional and friendly. There were some items in the room that I had trouble getting to work properly like the ceiling fan and there were some drawers without knobs. But over all I was more than pleased with everything. I would choose to stay at The Charles again without hesitation."
Archer Hotel Napa

"My partner and I booked the Archer Hotel Napa about three hours before arriving for a spontaneous overnight trip. We were happy to find something available downtown, and overall, the hotel is beautiful, well maintained, and in a great location. The staff was also friendly and helpful. We chose the Archer partly because of the rooftop fire pits and what appeared to be a pool. Unfortunately, when we went upstairs, a private event had completely blocked access to the fire pit area, so we weren’t able to enjoy it. The “pool” was also a surprise, it’s really more of a very shallow water feature where you can dip your feet. It’s probably great for lounging and tanning, but don’t expect to swim. We also had an issue with our valet-parked vehicle. When we picked it up the next morning, there was a distinct smell inside that wasn’t there when we dropped it off. I spoke with the manager, Jose, who assured me he would look into it and follow up, but unfortunately, I never heard back. The hotel itself is lovely, and I would consider staying again. However, if you’re booking specifically for the rooftop amenities, I recommend calling ahead to confirm they’re available. Also, keep expectations realistic regarding the “pool” and be mindful when using valet."
