Beautiful scenic outdoor bath, comfortable beds, and good meals. Change rooms were clean, but very run down. Non-smoking room still smelled like smoke, which seems to be normal for big old ryokans. If you really want to avoid smoke, stay in a newer place. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Would appreciate an information sheet in English upon arrival

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Historical hotel building, great onsen with different choices, nice and warm serving staff, valet parking service. Nice food but a bit pricey.
Relatively small room for two people.
Absolutely lovely hotel with a charming owner. The owner Lady had a lovey evening show every evening - quite a special experience. The onsen deparments were super good. Loved the restaurant with authentic Japanese food. If you are not used to Japanese breakfast and dinner this is a good opportunity to try it.
Wifi was fine also in the room.
The surroundings are great: a small Japanese village with beautiful nature.
A wonderful modern Japanese hotel though food was ordinary kaiseki. Great view of river from room and onsen. Wifi was only available at lobby areas but not consistent.
