"Off grid getaway tucked deep in the redwoods— arrival itself is an adventure. The apartment is a quiet, peaceful nook with an eclectic touch. The grounds are highly explorable and our pup had a wonderful time. Wondering around and waking up next to the rushing Eel River was a beautiful experience. Great place to stay if your goal is to disconnect for a while. 10/10 will return. "

Very easy to find right off the highway but far enough away that road noise was not an issue (there is a closer road but it was partially closed so road noise was even lower than normal). Behind a secure automatic gate with a few other accommodations. The drive up to the stay was fairly steep so be aware you may need to push the gas up the gravel more than you're comfortable doing. "We came to Petrolia for a couple of days on a road trip up the coast and had a great time. The kitchen was very well-equipped and bedrooms were comfortable for our party of 6. The orchard was also really lovely! The house is just a few minutes from Mattole Beach on the one side and the general store/‘downtown’ on the other. Great place to stay on the lost coast!"
