Offering accommodations for 8 with 1,300 square feet of living space with brand new appliances, a full size hot tub, and breath taking views of the lower White Oak River, this house will not disappoint. This comfortable house is situated in the coastal town of Cedar Point. THE PROPERTY Master Bedroom: King Bed, Bedroom 2: Queen Bed, Bedroom 3: Queen Bed, Bedroom 4: Queen Bed The house features an open-style combined living room, dining room, and kitchen area, creating the perfect place to enjoy the company of your travel companions while you relax and take in the beautiful scenery of the White Oak River. The chef of the group with relish in the fully-equipped kitchen, where they can use the stainless steel appliances to cook up their favorite recipes on beautiful granite countertops. Enjoy delicious homemade meals gathered around the living room table, at the kitchen bar, or outside on the spacious deck’s comfortable patio furniture. During days spent inside, lounge around in the living room, complete with a comfortable sofa, a matching, armchair, and a flat-screen cable TV. Every Bedroom is equipped with a flat-screen cable TV as well. Below the main living area you’ll find an 8 foot picnic table and a Hot Tub capable of holding up to six people at one time. This is the perfect place to spend a relaxing evening! The deck offers incredible views of the surrounding saltwater river and distant islands. Kayak Kabin also has a small backyard perfect for playing games or cooking on our in-ground park grill. In addition to the deck and yard Kayak Kabin also has a brand new, 250 ft, concert dock. The dock runs over the beautiful marsh and ends with a two level platform overlooking the White Oak River. The dock is perfect for launching kayaks, fishing, crabbing, birdwatching, or just relaxing and catching some rays! We also have 2 kayaks on the property, perfect for exploring the surrounding waterways. THE LOCATION Kayak Kabin is located directly off Highway 24 in the small coastal town of Cedar Point. From the house it’s a short five minute drive to the beaches of Emerald Isle and an enjoyable 10 minute walk to historic Swansboro. The house is a kayakers dream! It’s location on the flats of the White Oak River make it an ideal place to jump on a kayak and go exploring. In addition to the beautiful beaches the Crystal Coast also provides world class fishing. If you’re looking for an inshore fishing guide the folks at Dudley’s and Pogies will be able to help you out. If you’re looking for a deep sea experience the Head boats the “Capt. Stacy”, located in Atlantic Beach, and the “Carolina Princess”, located in Morehead City, are sure bets. If you’re looking for a place to launch your own boat there’s no need to worry! There is a deep water, public North Carolina Wildlife boat ramp located directly across the street. This ramp also includes a free public fishing pier. When it comes to the kids there are more than enough activities to keep them busy! You can spend the day playing in the water at the Salty Pirate Water Park, race go carts and play putt putt at the Golfin’ Dolphin, or bowl and play in the arcade at Mac Daddy’s. However, other reviews mention that it’s on a busy road; I would say that’s an understatement. The road is a major 4 lane highway that stays busy 24/7\. The business next door starts at 3am with super loud machinery banging for several minutes. Trying to watch the birds and drink my morning coffee on the dock but was distracted with traffic noise- it’s also visible from the dock. We certainly made the best of it- enjoyed the ferry to Bear island, Emerald Isle beach, Golfin Dolphin- but it wasn’t the peace and quiet I envisioned from the listing. Unfortunately, the house is right on rt. 24 which is rather busy and sits next to a commercial building which isn't the most attractive. Having said that there is a privacy fence between the properties and when you sit on the deck you can't see the commercial site. While you can hear the road the commercial activities next door was in no way disruptive or even noticed. Another small issue was the 3:30 AM trash pick-up. It woke up both my wife and I. Hopefully this was a one-off event and not the normal time they pick-up trash. The house itself was very nice and the kayaking was great. One afternoon the whole family paddled out to the sandbar by the bridge and went swimming. It was a blast. My son and I also got in some fishing and were fairly successful catching speckled trout and even a flounder. The hot tub was also very nice and enjoyed by all. We had a wonderful time at the Kayaker and Bird Watchers Dream Home. We usually come and stay in the area to visit our daughter and family for Thanksgiving. The house had an open floor plan that I like so we can be all together to eat and relax. We LOVED the view from the back decks, inside the house and down to the dock. It was fantastic. We enjoyed playing games at the dining room table, having the kitchen island counter provided extra seating and a place to serve food. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals. The beds were comfortable, and the house was very clean upon our arrival. We enjoyed the hot tub, and it was clean and ready to use when we got there. The grandchildren enjoyed crabbing and was lucky enough to catch five of them. You could watch the flotilla boat parade from the front porch. The traffic did not bother us. You cannot hear it from inside the house and even when you are out back. Not an issue for us. We would stay here again and would recommend. Thank you for sharing your home with us. The location of this home on the water was the highlight of this property, which is saying a lot because there are so many wonderful aspects of this home! The views are heavenly, whether you are getting them from the highest point of the home on the beautiful porch, or down below sitting comfortably in the spotless hot tub. When you pull in initially, you are coming off of a main road, however don’t let that deter you because what’s behind the house is the gem!!! You are not far from any grocery stores or shopping that you may need to do while being immersed in a beautiful natural environment. Best of both worlds. My intention for this stay was a relaxing birthday weekend for my son, who I was visiting. He absolutely loved it, mission accomplished! He slept 12 hours both nights because it was so very comfortable there. He said he couldn’t believe how long he slept. The bedding was very comfortable. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful, and contained everything I needed to make some terrific meals. The appliances were all new, and everything was completely spotless. This house has plenty of space inside, a beautiful green yard, a great patio, decking, and even a beautiful pier out into the saltmarsh. There is no shortage of wildlife to include beautiful birds, fish jumping out of the water, crabs, etc. We took the kayaks out, which was so much fun. We booked 36 hrs before we arrived. All the reviews are on point about this property. Excellent views, comfy beds, well stocked property (although some more forks and teaspoons would be great). You can hear the road especially if the windows are open at night but that didn't detract for us. Great hot tub, corn holes (one of the red bags had a hole), ring game, puzzles/ games, kayaks our 13 yr old actually enjoyed spending time with us! It is the cleanest rental we have ever stayed in. The house is comfortable and the dock and hot tub make for a pleasant alternative to staying on the beach. We loved the proximity to Swansboro for dining. We did not make use of the Kayaks as we didn't have the energy to haul them down the dock, but we did catch many crabs at the end of the dock. The road is busy, but the privacy of the house and the beauty of the river more than make up for it. The owner is very responsive and I appreciated that linens were included along with other thoughtful items like charcoal for the grill and extra garbage bags and toilet paper. Kayak Kabin provides a welcoming atmosphere and a spectacular water view. The house offers a warm and spotless “home away from home” feel. In particular, we felt cozy and safe during our absolutely frigid Christmas stay. The ample living room gave the family the perfect setting to watch a few Christmas movies and to enjoy each other’s company. The hot tub was a welcome addition that we enjoyed, especially during the frigid temperatures. It is not an overstatement to say that the river views are breathtaking and serene. These views are available from almost every room of the house. The owners were friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were the easiest and most streamlined we have ever experienced. We loved visiting various shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues found in Emerald Isle, Cedar Point, and Swansboro. The pics do not do this property justice. I could sit on the high deck for hours and sit on the dock. The view is just miraculous. Bird watching amazing. So peaceful. Our teens loved kayaking. There are only 2 so we would bring our own if we go back.
