Great Location

Pros: Location and size of the rooms. Beds are very comfortable and love the fireplace.
Cons: Needs updating, had a nail sticking out of the corner by balcony door. Just needs a bit of TLC in spots.
Location: Can walk to downtown, beaches, cannery row, fisherman's wharf. Tuesday night is farmers market downtown. Close to biking, walking paths.
We love this hotel, great location, spacious rooms etc. This stay the bathtub had not been cleaned, mold ring and dried dirt. When taking a shower the drain was plugged and the water backed up about two inches at our feet. Did tell hotel staff and the problem was taken care of. Not much of a selection for the breakfast. So many people in a small space right in the doorway. Just enough to hold you over until an early lunch. We do like the space in the rooms and the fireplace. Gives a great ambiance with cold weather or fog and its nice to eat at a dining table. Also love having a balcony to sit on. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed the hotel, just needs to be updated a bit.

Clean room. Big and pretty quiet. Got good rate and while the free breakfast wasn't great, it was decent.

Nice hotel, easy walk to sights

Pros: Okay continental breakfast is a time saver for a family.
Cons: The spa was tepid, and we could only stand it for a few minutes, we had looked forward to it after a long day of walking. It had been ok years before.
Location: Location is perfect. We never moved the car, and walked everywhere.
Unfriendly person at check in was balanced by friendly staff during remainder of stay. I was not sure if Expedia reservation was the reason. I will try direct booking next time. Also had better room when booked directly.

Nice front staff, smelly rooms, bad housekeeping

I picked a 4 star hotel not ocean front so I could get a clean room. As soon as I walked in there was a musky stale smell. Even after leaving the balcony door open, which had no screen, the smell lingered. Wifi was really slow when other people were using it. We went to the aquarium and got back at 545, our room was not cleaned. Our housekeeper knocked a little before 6 pm and asked if we were leaving our room anytime so she could clean. She looked relieved when we said no and gave us more towels. This is a nice 3 star hotel. Not 4. We would not come back here. I rather be at marriot or Hilton.

Beautiful and elegant

Everything was perfect minus the breakfast. Wish they had more to offer.. I've stayed in lots of hotels and even they offered more of a breakfast selection

Perfect Spot in Monterey

Cons: Only one wash cloth in room. Could not take a bath because the stopper was broken.
Great location. Everything Monterey is within walking distance.

Nice hotel close to attractions

My daughter and I stayed here for a quick trip for a race and the only negative is the tight parking.

Very nice room with fireplace.

Pros: Nice sitting area with fire place.
Cons: The continental breakfast (free) could be more appetizing and the spa in working order.
Location: Close easy walk to fisherman's wharf and Cannery row.
We stayed in a junior suite. Room was large and comfortable. The spa was broke and looked like it had been down for quite some time. Great location and pleasant staff.We would stay there again.
