It turns out I had paid, was correct and he was completely wrong. His rude attitude and presence set off a horrible week at Jewel Boutique Hotel. Had to spend an hour confirming with Hotels.com / Expedia that room had been pre-paid. The manager called the next day and said staff member was wrong and refund would be issued. Great problem solved, NEGATIVE! Like most people he had some excuse about it would take a few days. No problem, unfortunately a week later refund has not been issued.
