When to Book Flights to Tel Aviv

The hottest and driest months in Tel Aviv are June to September. If you’re looking to top up your tan and enjoy the city’s extensive coastline, this is definitely the best time to visit. However, with thousands of other holidaymakers also heading to the Israeli resort in the summer months, finding cheap flights to Tel Aviv can be a challenge.

If you want to avoid the worst of the heat and the holiday crowds, plan your trip for March to May or October to November. Spring and autumn are beautiful seasons in the city and cheap flight deals to Tel Aviv should be a lot easier to find.

Winters in Tel Aviv are generally mild with daytime temperatures of around 18˚C. If you’re looking for somewhere to escape the northern European gloom, a winter trip to Tel Aviv could be just the ticket.

How to Find the Best Flight Deals to Tel Aviv

The more flexible you can be when booking flights to Tel Aviv, the better.

One of the best ways to track down a cheap deal is to click the ‘Show flexible dates’ link on the Expedia results page. As the cost of services can vary significantly throughout the week, checking prices for alternative days can help you to save money on your holiday.

Another factor that has a big impact on the cost of flights is your departure point. As low cost airlines are often based at regional airports, you may well find that changing your departure point, or selecting ‘All airports’ from the dropdown menu, will help you to find a cheaper airfare.

How to Get to and Around Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv has a good public transport network with bus routes connecting most parts of the city. Fares are cheap and services are regular, making this a great way to see Tel Aviv and the surrounding area. If you’re staying in the city for a few days, invest in a smart Rav-Kav card to make travel even easier.

As Tel Aviv is largely flat, it’s a great city to explore by bike. An increasing number of cycle routes are popping up around the city, making it easy and safe to see the sights on two wheels.

What are the Must-sees in Tel Aviv?

One of the most evocative parts of the city is the old port of Jaffa. Its ancient acropolis has been well-preserved and beautiful historic buildings dot the old town. Visit the old bazaar for a great choice of lively restaurants and independent boutiques.

Another neighbourhood that’s packed full of character is the Yemenite Quarter. Located next to the colourful Carmel Market, the area is a labyrinth of narrow streets and early 20th century homes. Wander over to the nearby marketplace for a cheap meal and an authentic taste of life in Tel Aviv.

Centrally located and easy to reach, all three offer a good choice of amenities and spectacular sunsets.

Apr 10, 2019

I checked in online and went straight to the gate only to discover that I should have done a security check back by the check in desk. The staff were really great about it and I didn't have to wait long for the guys to come and do the check at the gate. But it did give me a few minutes of avoidable anxiety. Should have had some prior warning of this.
