"Beautiful historic building, right downtown"
First of all, the building is gorgeous. If character and historical & original details are your style, you will love this hotel. Located in the Foshay Towers, many original pieces are still very much intact and the overall character of the early 1900's grand tower have been preserved, while adding modern W-style.
The rooms are relatively small, but comfortable. The bathrooms could us a little more light but overall we were very pleased with the cleanliness, amenities and set-up.
The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The valet/door staff were awesome--- always friendly, offering suggestions, directions, etc.
Check out the museum and observation deck on the 30th floor - incredible views and some great old pictures and notes documenting the history of the building and Mpls at the dawn of the 1900's. Free access to hotel guests. Also, highly recommend checking out Prohibition, the bar on the 27th floor. We're told this is the highest bar in Mpls. Really cozy, attentive staff and excellent drink options (food also available).
Location is super convenient to shopping, restaurants, river, biking, etc.
Would stay there again, foshay. I mean, for sure.
