Hotel is maintained and being improved but a little dated although that didn't bother us. Great value for the price and rooms have fridge and kettle, restaurant is open air and nice for sunset. "This was my second stay at the Reef Strand. Last year I was there before the remodel. The place has a great new look and I'd call it a gem. Owner and most of the staff go out of their way to make things run smoothly. If your looking for a loud party haven it's not there. At the Reef you'll find peace and relaxation. However, if you want to stay up all night and drink till the sun comes up the staff will be gladly tuk tuk you to where the nights run into the day. Rates are reasonable considering pricing in the other 3 and 3 1/2 star hotels and all the meals I've eating there were very good. So if your going to EL NIdo it's well worth checking in, you'll prob be back for a second or third time like me. "
