the beach in March
Well-situated, well-equipped, clean. Beach access right across the street, sunset over the marsh, a sky full of stars. Friendly hosts, comfy beds. Quiet in March with no biting flies and hardly any people. Loved the town of Milton and nearby Lewes and Cape Henlopen.

What a fabulous location
Ocean across the street, wildlife refuge out back. Peaceful and quiet. Comfortable and bathroom and kitchen were very well stocked. Unit was SPOTLESS. Owners pleasant and organized. Perfect for two or three people.

Awesome Location!!
The location is perfect for a peaceful and quiet stay with views of the marsh right off our deck and beach access just across the street. Steve & Bobbi were excellent hosts and the unit was clean and very well stocked.

Rested and refreshed
If you’re looking for a no-frill, restful beach vacation this is the spot! Well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, lovely screened in porch and the beach is across the street over the dune! Steve and Bobbi are terrific hosts. The towns, closes by, are all worth exploring. Hope to return next September.

Ideal vacation home
Steve and Bobbi's place was everything we needed/wanted. If you know Broadkill Beach, you already know that the location is fabulous, down toward the southern end of S. Bayshore Drive — so quiet, so peaceful, and so full of natural beauty. Steve and Bobbi's place is on the canal side with ultra-easy access to the bay (90-second walk across the street), where they've got three beach umbrellas planted in the sand, a great landmark for finding your way home when you're swimming. The two bedrooms overlook the canal and are separated from the kitchen and BA by a winding hallway, so people trying to sleep don't hear noise from kitchen or BA. I could say more, but I'll just cut to the chase: The only reason NOT to stay here is if you don't want to be at Broadkill Beach.

Wonderful place on the beach and within nature preserve
Hosts are great people and provided all needed for a lovely stay. Extremely clean and perfectly situated to beach, with magnificent views of marsh from back deck. Very comfortable. We look forward to going back.

Complete comfort in a quiet natural setting
Great place to spend a few days if you want to get away from crowds, traffic, and commercial/developed areas. Bring groceries and enjoy easy meal-prep in the well-supplied kitchen. The place was spacious (for the two of us) and immaculately clean. The deck out back offered hours of quiet solitude overlooking the vast green marsh preserve with sounds of nature. The sound of the ocean (technically the Bay) beckoned right out the front door and we had the beach to ourselves almost (until the weekend). Beach Plum Island nature preserve is right down the street. Breathtaking views of the marsh wilderness and bay shore the way nature is meant to be. We will go back as soon as possible!

Tranquil Spot
We had a great few days. This home is in the perfect spot to enjoy the beach just a few steps away and to just sit back and relax and have dinner in the screened in porch and watch all the birds in the wildlife refuge out back. The house was clean, well stocked with everything you think you might need and the owners were very friendly and kind. We look forward to coming back here again!! Broadkill Beach VRBO
This was a fantastic place to stay! With the wildlife refuge behind and the beach across the street, we were in our dream stay! The apartment was stocked with every need and then some. The beach was quiet and inviting. We enjoyed every minute and wished we could have stayed longer. I think we’ll be back!

Best beach get away
This is the 6th year my family and I have rented this property. It’s very clean and is well equipped. The beach is beautiful and perfect for families with young kids. The owners are wonderful and very helpful. I highly recommend it!

My son and I came for 2 nights to fish and explore a new area. It was rainy and windy but perfect for fishing, according to my son. He caught his first flounder, a 27 inch striper, a few spot and a bunch of perch. Everything was spotless and there was so much available in the apartment that we packed really lightly compared to staying anywhere else I’ve been. Beds were comfortable and it easily sleeps 4. All towels and linens except beach towels were provided, lots of soaps and lotions, after sun care and drawers with everything you could think of. They even brought my son a rain coat. The kitchen has a bunch of spices, oils, coffee, tea, sweeteners, and all kitchen supplies. The family who own the house was very friendly. They gave us tips for fishing in a canal, showed us how everything worked, shared bait and my son was able to meet and fish with their grandson who is the same age as my son. The area is beautiful and peaceful and we loved watching the wildlife from the back deck/porch and docks. We would stay again!

Fantastic Beach Rental
First, if you don’t like these hosts and their family, you should sit down on the beautiful beach and do some serious soul searching because they are wonderful people and excellent hosts. The rental is clean, well stocked, and the perfect apartment for a small family. The kitchen has everything you need. The back porch was a favorite spot to watch birds on the salt marsh and canal. It is a quick walk to a beautiful and spacious beach. We loved it and plan to be back next year.

Great place when you have little ones

Best property owners ever!
My mom and I stayed for a 3 day weekend and left the property and surrounding area once for some supplies. Owners had everything and then some. Even those little things you think you forget, they have it! Steve was very knowledgeable about the wildlife that you can watch from the property. Very helpful when fishing and crabbing from the private dock. I have used this app for multiple properties and this one is by far the best and most prepared. Thank you guys for everything. Well appointed apartment with decks to view a mating pair of osprey in the salt marsh. Quiet save for the host’s young family members running about upstairs— oh well. Billy and Steve were not expecting so many showing up for Easter family time! Note: Always bring the following to any rental— ear plugs and sleep mask. We had a lovely stay. Many little surprises like a well appointed kitchen, being surrounded by a wildlife refuge yet groceries are 15 minutes away. There is a private walkway to the beach, and a bit of bay view and lighthouse light from the kitchen window. Enjoy.

Quick Getaway
Staying at this VRBO property was an absolute dream! From start to finish, the experience was seamless and enjoyable. The communication with the owner was excellent, and they were very responsive to any questions we had before and during our stay. Bobbie and Steve are delightful. The property itself was clean and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were super cozy, and we slept soundly. The kitchen was fully stocked. One of the best things about this property was its location next to the preserve and bay. Overall, we had an incredible experience staying and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation rental. We will definitely be back in the future!

Perfect
A friend referred us after staying over the summer. She was absolutely right, we loved it. The unit was extremely clean and comfortable for myself, husband and 5 year old. Steve and Bobbie were wonderful hosts. We woke to views of Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge (as birders, it doesn't get better than that) and walked right to the bayside beach to look for more birds (piping plover!), look for treasures, and play in the waves. We were close enough to Lewes and Rehoboth for more adventures. Next time we would like to stay longer so we can really relax on the back porch and do some fishing.

Beautiful fall weekend
Steve and Bobby are excellent hosts, friendly and accommodating. The house is perfectly suited to four people. It is well-equipped -- perhaps the best kitchen I've ever seen in a rental. The house has excellent views to the west, includes access to a dock and is a short and direct walk to the beach. It's about 15 minutes from a Food Lion and other necessities. Great escape! Marvelous time!
My friends and I stayed for a long weekend, the view of the marsh alone is worth it! The place was very inviting and we let Steve know when we were close and they had the Air conditioning on and ready for us to walk into a cool environment. We enjoyed eating most of our meals on the screened in back porch with amazing sunsets. The beach was a very short walk and mostly private, clean, and very enjoyable!

Amazing place, nice owners and great stay. We couldn’t have asked for more. My son loved learning to crab with Stephen’s help. I enjoyed a long run on the beach. The morning marsh views were perfect and included so much wildlife. It was a quiet retreat from the hustle of nearby boardwalk beaches. Nice place with all the amenities! Steve was very responsive with his communication during our stay. My kids enjoyed fishing off the dock (first catch for my son) along with the balcony and screen porch. Great sunsets over the refuge as well. Be sure to check out the outdoor bathroom!

Amenities beyond expectation!
In this well-appointed, quiet apartment, you will find large rooms with bedrooms overlooking the Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge. The back deck is open on one side and screened on the other, which is perfect for watching fish, bird, boat action in the canal. Everything is very clean and all necessary supplies are provided such as soap, detergent, shower gel, shampoo, much needed bug spray, etc. In the kitchen, coffee, tea, sugar, spices, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, pots and pans are abundant. If you forgot something, Bobbie didn't! There is no sitting room but in good weather the deck suffices. It is a quick walk to the bay where Steve has sun umbrellas set up and chairs to borrow. The attentive hosts are kind and knowledgeable. The only drawback is that no restaurants are close, so be prepared to drive. If you want to visit the Delaware bay, and have a quiet stay, this is the place to go.

Perfect beach house

Great get away
Loved staying at Broadkill Beach. Great location. The marsh behind the house was beautiful with amazing sunsets and tons of birds and fidler crabs. Beach is across the street and down a sorta steep dune. It is a quiet area which is exactly what we wanted. House/apartment was clean and comfortable. There is no real living room. The second bedroom is where the tv is located We didn’t even turn on the tv until the last full day. If the 4 of us were eating or hanging out it was usually out on the deck over looking wetlands. The hosts were wonderful!!! They live in the attached house and we’re there the whole time but we never heard them. They were extremely friendly and helpful with information but never intrusive They are super nice people We would gladly stay again. If you want to be away from the crowds, love nature and want to relax then this is the place for you!!

Excellent location, clean, and wonderful hosts
We stayed at this lovely property for a week. Steve and Bobbie are generally good people who really made us feel welcome. The property is as described in the listing; we found the accommodations excellent for our family of 3. It was very clean and well stocked. The window AC units kept everything nice and cool on the hot days. A definite bonus was the washer and dryer and detergent was provided. One of our favorite parts of the stay was sitting out on the screened in back porch. There is an osprey nest nearby and it was enjoyable watching them. In general we saw a lot of birds and even a fox. The beach itself is beautiful. There were hardly any people there which was excellent. The water was warm and the waves were not overwhelming. Lots of shells are to be found on the beach and there are some tide pools on the jetty which boast a good deal of hermit crabs to observe. We were happy to see some horseshoe crabs as Broadkill Beach is known for them. The road the property is on is good for taking a morning run or walk if that is your thing. We were not too far of a drive from Rehoboth and Lewes, so it was easy to go there for some other activities. Milton has some good eateries and we definitely loved the food from Po’ Boys Creole Restaurant. Another awesome place we found nearby was Brimming Horn Meadery. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would; we felt so relaxed and at peace at Steve and Bobbie’s place. We will definitely return in the future.

Simply Amazing
First of all, shout out to VRBO for not inundating my inbox with pointless communication, or giving me inaccurate information. Much appreciated. Now... About Steve and Bobbie and the most perfect vacation rental imaginable. We got there a little too early in error. Bobbie was outside, and was super understanding and just the friendliest, most welcoming. I was shocked at how clean the house was, and was immediately made more comfortable by this, as my sister was very concerned about possibility of picking up Covid while on vacation. I met Steve as I was sunloading some things from my vehicle, again, super friendly and welcoming. If you're a down to earth, friendly person, these are your people. I told my sister, I am officially adopting Steve and Bobbie as honorary family members. Such sweethearts! Now... The house. I don't know how, but it was just perfect. You get the best of all worlds here. Beach is a ridiculously short walk from the front door, you've got fishing and amazing sunsets at the creek out back. The Osprey nest was a huge hit with our family. We loved having a view of them. The furnishings we're just gorgeous and perfect, the screened in porch, right beside the non screened in porch- fantastic touch, really. You can enjoy the outdoors no matter what may be happening out there. Also, this is a home you could just bring your clothes and food to. Anything you may have needed was already there, including coffee, powdered creamer, sugar, coffee filters, basically, you name it, it was there for use. Down to beach carts, chairs, boogie boards, hose for when you get back to the house to rinse off, outdoor shower and toilet. Within 5 minutes I had determined that we'd be back next year. This property, and the owners were just perfection, and really not only exceeded my expectations, but blew the entire family away. Ten stars out of five.

Perfect for kids
We had a magnificent stay with Captain Steve at this place. I visited with my 3 young children (ages 10, 8 and 3) and it was the ideal combination of fishing (out back) and beach (small, safe waves just across the street). It was low key, relaxing, and the available kid friendly materials (beach toys, coloring books) were perfect. We hope to come back next year!

Very clean but over priced.
Steve and Bobbie are lovely hosts. The downstairs floor was very clean and the view doesn’t disappoint. Truly enjoyed the bird watching and spectacular sunset. If you’re looking for a beach getaway I’m not sure this spot is it. The bay side is a little unappealing and has bugs. The beach is short and covered in decaying horseshoe crabs. The setup in the main room of the house is lacking. There is no proper couch or coffee table to lounge on after a day of sunny events. The host also needs to invest in easy to access cable TV. Most of the amenities are accurate, though. And the pictures are spot on. Again, very clean, but needs a little tweaking and the price needs to be lowered. You can get a hotel room in Rehoboth for less money.

Low-key Sanctuary
Wonderful experience all around. Especially loved the natural surroundings. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. Plenty of outlets and wifi was great. The kitchen was well-equipped. Loved Loved Loved sitting out on the screened in porch and watching the water and birds. Beach was private -- saw no one else during our walk! Hosts were amazing. Will definitely be back.
