"We enjoyed our stay here. It’s a fairly low key hotel in a low key town but very peaceful and friendly. The owners are very family focussed and there is a children’s toy area in the corner of the small restaurant. There’s a boot room downstairs for storing ski gear (and I believe my bikes in the summer). The set and a la carte menus are good if limited in choice which suited us. It’s necessary to book…as is the case with anywhere in Termignon and the other Val Cenis villages. "

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Méribel Village?
The best area to stay in Méribel Village is Méribel Centre, which serves as the main hub for most visitors.

Méribel Centre is the heart of the resort, located at 1450m altitude. It's where you'll find the primary ski lifts, the main shopping street with a variety of boutiques and ski rental shops, and a wide selection of restaurants and bars. The Olympic Park, with its swimming pool and ice rink, is also situated here. It's a very convenient area for accessing everything the resort offers.

Families often find Méribel Centre ideal due to its direct access to ski school meeting points and the "Rond-Point des Pistes" for easy slope access. The presence of the Olympic Park means there are plenty of alternative activities for non-skiing days or for children who need a break from the slopes. Many accommodations here offer ski-in/ski-out access or are a very short walk from the lifts.

Couples looking for a blend of convenience and a lively but relaxed evening can also enjoy Méribel Centre. There's a good selection of quality restaurants for dinner and a few comfortable bars for an après-ski drink, all within easy walking distance.
When is the best time to go to Méribel Village?
The best time to go to Méribel Village is during the winter ski season, typically from mid-December to late April, or in the summer months of July and August for outdoor activities.

For skiing and snowboarding, the peak season runs from mid-January to mid-March, offering the most reliable snow conditions and the liveliest atmosphere. During this period, the entire Méribel Valley is fully operational, with all ski lifts, restaurants, and shops open. Travellers looking for the best snow and a full ski experience will find this time ideal.

If you prefer a quieter ski trip with potentially better value, the weeks just before Christmas and late March into April can be excellent. The slopes are generally less crowded, and while some facilities might have reduced hours at the very beginning or end of the season, you can still enjoy extensive skiing. Families often appreciate these times for a more relaxed holiday.

For summer visits, July and August provide warm weather great for hiking, mountain biking, and enjoying the Alpine scenery. The lifts operate for walkers and cyclists, and many chalets and hotels offer summer programmes.
