"Don’t stay here unless cheapness or closeness to the train station is imperative. Elevator is a rickety old coffin made in the 80s with missing buttons and things to together with duct tape, the lobby call button is held on with a zip tie, my shower head was broken so non of the water came from the main nozzle, came out the sides and the drain didn’t work quickly so if you were in there more than 5 mins the water level would rise and flood the bathroom, the toilet button was snapped off and the first time I used it it worked and then didn’t work again as the water would constantly flow so couldn’t flush the toilet, ask them at reception to fix, said someone would come, they didn’t, asked them again, same thing, didn’t bother asking again. Fez is really hot compared to other cities in Morocco, it was like 29C - 32C the whole time I was there, my air condition unit was ancient, didn’t work, only pumped out warm air, learned this the first night, the next day u went down stairs to ask about the air conditioning, wether maybe I was using it wrong or if I could be moved to another room with working aircon, they said no aircon doesn’t work in any room, no idea if that’s true but it was sweltering hot for someone from a cold country like me and she was really rude and aircon was in the promised amenities, so if you do come her don’t come in spring or summer coz you’ll sweat to death, I asked them if I could get an electrical fan since the air con didn’t work, she made a face said no"
"Absolutely stunning place. Friendly staff ready with helpful recommendations. Very friendly owner! Great location just outside of the Medina. You can pretty much walk to all that Fes offers"
"Breakfast was very well prepared and delicious. Mehdi was attentive and helpful and went above and beyond.
Unfortunately, the riad itself left little to be desired and felt dated, dark and lacked cleanliness. Our ground floor room didn’t feel safe with a secure door as it felt loose in its place, and furthermore, the lock broke (however Mehdi promptly provided a replacement. "
"Hotel Sahrai was exceptional! A beautifully designed hotel for a great price! Rooms were beautiful and clean and bathroom beautifully designed and spacious. The beds were very comfortable, great pool, fantastic food! , check in with tea and pasties to the room were all special touches. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us- and let us checkout late since we had a late flight. The breakfast was delicious and bar was open late for drinks and music at Jungle- very fun! The food - Italian and moroccoan and Lebanese were all amazing! The pizza, foccacia, and sandwiches were more delicious than in NYC! prices for drinks and food were reasonable too. I would definitely stay again soon, I hope! Fantastic stay at great prices!"
"Overall we enjoyed our stay in Fes. The riad makes a great first impression—the courtyard is beautiful, and the rooftop has great views and is a really nice spot for breakfast.
Our room on the main level wasn’t ideal. The windows opened straight into the lobby, so it didn’t feel very private, and we could hear a lot of conversation through the vents (and assumed the same the other way).
The bathroom also had some issues. The shower wasn’t really usable without water spraying everywhere, and the space isn’t set up well for that.
The staff were friendly and helpful overall. That said, some of the upselling felt a bit deceptive, which took away slightly from the experience."
