We had such a lovely stay at the Sterling Inn & Spa! We loved the thoughtful little touches, especially being greeted with “Happy Anniversary” as soon as we checked in and the breakfast in bed. It’s the little details that made our stay feel extra special. Such a relaxing and memorable experience. we’d definitely come back!
Overall a great stay - the only downside was the missed amenities for the third person despite booking for three people (no dressing gown, slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste etc).
This hotel was a great discovery and is now one of my favorite hotels I've stayed in. We had a one-bedroom cabin and it was wonderful. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was large with a double sink vanity & the shower had both a rain head & hand-held shower heads. We loved the little kitchenette and the absolute best part were the amazing views & gorgeous sunsets! We ate at the 'Cucina 3064' restaurant on site for breakfast & dinner--the coffee, food & service was top notch! The Cellar Door was delightful for wine tasting & their charcuterie boards were so yummy! On the weekends the grounds are full of couples & families enjoying the atmosphere, animals, music on Sundays & the amazing view! All the staff we talked with genuinely loved working at Marnong Estate and we can see why. I would stay here over & over again & will when in the Melbourne area.
Such a beautiful room!

Room (Cabin) was very clean and well appointed, and well looked after by Denise who checked us in/out and was very prompt in attending to a minor issue. Thank you!

Overall stay was good except thy only registered our tag for one night and we had to call after hours security to get in but they were prompt.
After paying $462.41 for 2 nights and expecting a bit of peace for the location and price, I checked in and was greeted with 3 hours of ride-on lawn moving at the front of my cabin. Upon inspection of the hotel room, the utensils were sticky and dirty and the coffee machine was filthy. The doors to the adjoining cabin rooms are SO LOUD that they shake the room and wake you up each time they are open/shut. The Gardeners parked right in front of my cabin 3 times (no privacy) over 2 days. The head blondy at the restaurant was icy cold in her service, similar to reception staff when I left.
The second night, 4 drunk men arrived in the adjoining cabin making so much noise, moving furniture, yelling, banging on things, etc that I was forced to open my door and tell them to be more considerate. This went on till nearly 1am. This establishment checks in 4 males next to a single female, what the hell! Reception staff told me all cabins were full on the night of the 9/12/2025 and placed the blame on me for not calling security and offered no refund or discount for the inconvenience. Do you think calling security on 4 drunk grown men as a single woman next door places a target on my back? I felt extremely unsafe and uncomfortable doing so. No f*ks were given from the reception staff and as I walked out of reception near 10am on the 10/12/2025, I overheard both reception staff backstabbing my complaint to eachother. Disgraceful!
NEVER TO RETURN!!
A lovely venue with an eclectic mix of architectural style.
Dinner and Breakfast servings were beautifully presented and delicious to eat. You know the venue takes pride when the orange juice is squeezed and the free water is not tap!
Staff were friendly and polite. They took pride in their work. They all seemed genuinely happy to be working their shifts. A credit to management!
Definitely will be returning- thank you😀
Beautiful modern, mini bar, restraurants on site, games provided, beautiful view. Peacocks and rabbits at the property. Very picturesque and would stay again
Amazing place to stay. Quiet & peaceful. Our one bedroom cabin was clean, spacious and comfortable. I didn't want to leave! Definitely a great place to escape 🙂
We were pleasantly surprised as we entered the driveway to the property.
Quite grand, and elevated position with well thought out facilities and surroundings.
Food was excellent at Cucina 3064.
Our room was comfortable and had a great view with all required amenities.
The room cleanliness wasn't as good as it should be.
Outside table was filthy as was glass doors that framed the view. Perhaps and oversight or rushed cleaner? Otherwise, room was overall in good condition.
This Winery was a pleasant surprise and definitely worth staying at for a meal, function or pleasant afternoon/day trip.
