Situated on a private lane with an enclosed garden, Wee Lyon Cottage is accessible by car, bus or train. The Maybole area has historic castles and charming villages with walks and trails. Visitors to Ayrshire can book championship, club and municipal golf courses. The spectacular coastline has sandy and pebble beaches overlooking the Firth of Clyde towards Arran and Ailsa Craig. Beaches are easily accessed with parking or bus stops close by. Ideal for paddle boarding, kayaking or swimming. Maybole is an ideal base to explore the south west, the local area is immersed in the stories and sites of the feuding Kennedys, Robert the Bruce and the poet Robert Burns. Don’t miss Culzean Castle and Dumfries House take a picnic and spend the whole day. Plan another day trip to an island try Arran, Bute or small but perfect Cumbrae all ferries (CalMac) within one hour travelling from Maybole.
