"Great location and good value"
As frequent visitors to Hawaii, we found the studio condo that we rented at The Whaler for nine days was a great location with many humpback whale sightings from the balcony of our unit. The unit was a nice size and had a higher end finish to it. The kitchen was perfect for our visit and was well equipped for basic food preparation. The Whaler is nicely maintained and one of the upper end properties in Kaanapali. The negatives: We called housekeeping because of gnats in the room. Housekeeping promptly responded, but we noticed the problem again a few days later. Not overly bothersome, but something we shouldn't have had to deal with. The furniture felt a little too frugal.

"Comfortable resort."
Our sixth visit says it all! We enjoyed a remodelled unit on the ninth floor that was wonderful. On the beach location provided breathtaking views, particularly the magnificent sunsets. Relaxing in sun or shade was the order of the day! We are processing our 2018 visit.

"Quite friendly place with spectacular views"
We really enjoyed our weeklong stay at Maui hill hotel. We had a 1-bed room apt. Huge space with kitchen, 2! Bathrooms and huge Livingroom where Our 2 kids 9&11 slept on Comfy bed-couch pullout. My wife and I had a spacious bedroom with master bathroom. Everything worked nothing broken. We plan to go back to same place next year. Very close to beautiful beaches and restaurants and supermarkets. Highly recommended !

"Nice Condotel"
Great location, walking distance to grocery store, ABC store, and farmers market. Beach access at hotel has been washed away, however a great beach at the neighbour hotel is a very short walk. Overall very pleased with the location, facilities and hotel/condo room.

"Exceeded My Expectations"
When I arrived, I was welcomed at the front desk. They were very informative on some details about the resort. I was extremely pleased when I opened up the door to our room. sometimes when you see pictures online you think, they've used a wide-angle lens, it's not going to look that good. The room looked exactly like the pictures. I was extremely pleased!

"Near to beach "
The best thing about the hotel it is near the beach, the staff is friendly and nice , the room furniture is old. Would be great if they offered complementary breakfast or limited room service free of charge. Above average in price but all the area is expensive. It is ok if you are not going to stay a lot inside

"a good combination of a condo and a hotel"
This is a good combination of a condo and a hotel. On one side you have a fully loaded condo with everything you need from full kitchen, washer and dryer to binoculars for whale-watching. I am not sure if this is true for every unit, but in my case I had everything I needed, from beach umbrella to lunch boxes. On the other side, it was a pleasant surprise to have a daily housekeeping as in a normal hotel. So your beach towels are daily replaced and any shampoo, soap, coffee, etc. topped up. My advice is to take an ocean-view as it is really worth it. It is very close to the ocean, so you can enjoy sunset with an amazing view. You can see whales every day from your balcony with a naked eye ( if there is a season). On multiple occasion I saw seals and sea turtles coming to the shore, so you can watch them as well. Pool with a hot tub and bbq area is nice too.
