The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The service is wonderful and you feel very safe and looked after at the hotel. The staff were so accomodating, they let us leave our luggage with them whilst we did a hike and then checked back in the next night and when we checked back in our luggage was in our room which was a big help as we didn’t have to worry about our property whilst we were hiking and staying at the mountain hut. And the food!!! Absolutely delicious! The dinner was such good quality and tasted amazing with a different menu on each of the nights we stayed. Could not fault this hotel and we hope to be back soon. Staying here was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The view from our bedroom was absolutely stunning - I miss it already. The giant windows made for such a special place experience. If you can afford the river facing rooms, it is an absolute must. The view of the stars at night, especially through the provided binoculars, was breathtaking. The onsen is really lovely too, so definitely worth a visit. Finally, the food - wow! We didn’t expect to have such fine quality dining, with wonderful service. It was definitely some of the best food we ate on our entire trip (especially the beef). This time I tried Luminance Kamikochi where view is super! Meals are OK for me. Room is simple but nothing can get such super view. They have hot spa which is not available at imperial hotel.
