The night staff looked dejected and a bit stresed, but no knocks on the staff really. This was not a good value for the money. The entrance to the hotel was a bit of a joke, as you're circling around the block endlessly to try to find an entrance that works before you take the elevator up to the rception area. The surrounding area is not a nice area. Its really just a back alley. (We happened to get the smallest of these, the one room that had a big support pillar running through it, but the rest of the rooms are if anything on the large size for a business hotel.) It's about a five minute walk from the train station, and about 15 minutes from Matsumoto Castle, with plenty of restaurants and shopping available within 5-10 minutes. The hotel has a public area with some TVs and computers available for use, as well as breakfast and drinks for purchase, and a large selection of manga to read. It also has a medium-sized public bath, in addition to the normal private bathroom included with double (and larger) rooms. The location is good, the price was low, and everything was clean and well-maintained.
