"The whole place needs a refurb. My bedroom could have done with a clean and the toilet actually needed flushing before I could use it. The stairs and corridors wer dusty in corners and one corridor had a peculiar smell. I know it was an old building but I’m sure even old buildings could have lifts installed and maybe ramps and here one or two steps are. Not good value for money and the breakfast certainly wasn’t. The restaurant and bar are were clean and smart and the staff were pleasant and helpful."

"The room was very clean with tea, coffee, milk and sugar provided. Not a great selection of teas but fine for us. The beds were comfortable and sheets clean and ironed. Small TV but that didn't bother us as we were out more than in. Good selection at breakfast with cereal, yoghurts, fruit juice. Very good cooked breakfast with several options. Tea and coffee served in your own pots. Staff really friendly."

"I have stayed 4 times with work. This time I couldn't relax as I could hear scurrying around in the ceiling. Thinking this was a mouse/rat infestation, they assured me it wasn't but it was actually squirrels. They did move my room after reporting it. However if squirrels are known about, I was shocked I was put in a room with that issue. I may consider somewhere else to stay next time. "

"We have stayed at this hotel 6 times previously, great for the Lingfield races. This occasion we got a first floor race course view close to the finishing post. Turned up 2 hours prior to normal check in time and was allowed to check in. Always find the staff here pleasant and helpful. After the race had drinks in the bar, good atmosphere. Room was great, lovely king size bed. Breakfast was great as usual but very busy at 0845. No shortage of either fresh fruit, cereals or hot full breakfast. Staff kept on top of this. We will use this hotel again."

"Needed a stopover to pick up from airport. Chose this place due to low cost but this did not mean low quality. The room was great, nice swimming pool for a quick dip. Had a drink in the bar and the buffet carvery was great and inexpensive. Took about 5 mins to drive to North Terminal carpark. Will definitely use this hotel again if we need to be at Gatwick early."

"Very small room (booked the cosy room), but it had a lovely view and window. If I didn’t it would be a little claustrophobic. Very small spa but luckily nobody was in there. Spa isn’t included for people staying the night so you have to pay £15 per person per hour. Beautiful beach and attentive staff. I’d return ☺️ "

"Overall we had a lovely stay. Only complaint was that we were cold in the evenings…it was less than 10° outside and the bar had air-conditioning on! We got really cold. The restaurant was also cold, so we only ate there the first night. The food was good, spoilt only by my poached eggs being cool the first day, and when I asked for them to be hot the second morning, they were only just warm! Otherwise a lovely breakfast. Shower very good, and plenty of hot water for baths to warm us up!"
