I think the mattress was as old as the hotel!
Lighting was less than poor which was frustrating. Just 2 low watt side lamps.
Bed was shocking. Springs sticking into your side making it impossible to sleep. Could tell it was an old bed. Usually stay at the Ibis Budget hotel but thought for a change we would treat ourselves and stay here. Regretted it. I'd compare the room to a low budget b&b. Hotel itself was lovely. Shame they don't invest some money into making small improvements. MOST of the staff were nice. There was a french guy on reception who was lovely and really helpful, and the concierge was equally as nice to talk to too. Waitresses were pointless, breakfast was a shambles. Apparently it was busy but could have been organised much better. Breakfast wasn't worth the money. You'd get a nicer cooked breakfast at weatherspoons just down the road.
Couldn't ask for a better location but not worth it. Next time I will be back to the cheaper, cleaner, comfier budget ibis hotel.
