Hotel is awful

If you have any option to stay in another hotel - just do it! Hotel is old, smells bleach, terrible visitors, no security.

"Executive Double Room 209"

Posted 16-Sep-2016
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: Use screens not shower curtains that appear to be very very cheap from a market. Repair things properly.Make room doors secure and fit correctly.
Booked "Executive Double" Guy who checked us in was excellent. Got to room and first appearance was very very dated. Tv was more like a pc monitor which is quite disappointing remembering the words "executive double". The bed was like sleeping on concrete. Windows didn't allow enough air into room and was quite hot at times to make sleep uncomfortable.Bathroom door appeared to have been punched at some stage in its life with a very poor repair job both sides which had been poorly filled and painted over by a 5 year old and the door was a very poor fit so that opening and closing was by use of force. The shower was an effort and pain due to the very cheap shower curtain that when in use would stick to you making it almost impossible to enjoy and due to it flapping about would allow water to cover the floor, could be solved by using sliding screens. Also paint splashes on floor which was probably when poor repair job was done on door. Bath towels were more the size of face cloths. The door to the room was either poorly hung in frame of the lock was poorly fitted so that it rattled withing the frame making it easy if you were so inclined to do to slide a credit card in and open without use of key card. if this is Brittania's idea of executive id hate to stay in a standard room.

Old Style hotel close to Piccadilly Gardens

Posted 18-Aug-2016
Pros: Victorian-style charm. Convenience for city centre. Lovely friendly staff.
Cons: Air-conditioning?
Location: Just off Piccadilly Gardens, close to shopping area and Piccadilly Station.
A grand hotel, perhaps a little worn in places but still a very pleasant place to stay. Has 5 floors but does have a lift. Very convenient for centre of city and Piccadilly Train Station. Due to the height of the hotel for safety reasons, the windows did not open very far and it did get a little hot.
