Old Style hotel close to Piccadilly Gardens

Posted 18-Aug-2016
Pros: Victorian-style charm. Convenience for city centre. Lovely friendly staff.
Cons: Air-conditioning?
Location: Just off Piccadilly Gardens, close to shopping area and Piccadilly Station.
A grand hotel, perhaps a little worn in places but still a very pleasant place to stay. Has 5 floors but does have a lift. Very convenient for centre of city and Piccadilly Train Station. Due to the height of the hotel for safety reasons, the windows did not open very far and it did get a little hot.

Hotel im Zentrum

Posted 15-Aug-2016

The worst bed we have ever slept on!

Posted 11-Aug-2016
He worst bed I have ever slept on! We both woken up with back pain! After one night we checked out and went to sleep to ibis- sooo much better. The bed was super old, hard and smaller than a normal double bed and it was in a deluxe room. Not recommend to anyone! If not the bed it would be good hotel, affordable and with a great location!

Never again

Posted 10-Aug-2016
This hotel was terrible!! The AC didn't work they brough us 2 little fans - bathroom clogged, no water one whole morning before we needed to take a tour with 3 kids unable to use the bathroom, not a good experience at all, the extra twin beds were old and uncomfortable, by the last night my nephew wanted to sleep in the floor rather than his "bed". Lots of noise from the street. The bathroom started to flood so they changed us to another one just as bad. Not good at all, never coming back. I cannot understand how this hotel is rated 3 starts!! Should be 1 at most.

Horrendous

Posted 09-Aug-2016
Paid more for a window when it just gave the feel of a prison cell; wouldn't open more than inch, also wouldn't shut. "Double" bed which was barely more than a single. No aircon and room was sweltering, bathroom in a poor condition. Wanted to move hotels instantly but as it was only one night, my friend convinced me to just stick it out. Stay at a Travel lodge if you want something cheap, at least you'll get a bed bigger than a postage stamp.

avoid

Posted 08-Aug-2016
Pros: location
Cons: whole place needs a upgrade
Was very disappointed in this hotel.Staff were unhelpful especially when seeking information regarding car parking. Whilst the location is great and the building is impressive, the facilities are in a big need of an upgrade. If you get a room for £50 a night then it's fine but otherwise avoid. Also there is a bar in the basement and you can hear the music all night and that was despite being on 5th floor.

Not a hotel I would visit again

Posted 08-Aug-2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything else. Service, quality, value, water, cleanliness, comfort.
Location: Lots of restaurants and sights to see. Chinatown, Gay Town, Northern Quarter
The room we were given was as far from the entrance as possible, and included stairs, which we had requested otherwise as I am pregnant and it's difficult to lift anything up and down stairs. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the room was very warm too. The second night, around 2am, the door began making loud noises as did some access hole in our ceiling(presumably to the attic crawlspace of the building). It sounded as though these were both due to air suction from outside. The hot water in the shower worked in 20-second intervals, completely shutting off in between, and scalding when turning back on. The second day, there was no water at all from anywhere. When approaching the desk regarding this, they had been aware of this for an hour already, yet still it took them 30 minutes to reassign us rooms. By this time, it was checkout time(11am), so they gave us until noon to move everything and be able to shower. Turned out there was no water there either. The lack of organisation from the hotel management and the state of the hotel was disappointing, as the hotel looks like it was likely gorgeous at one point in time.
