When we first arrived at 10pm we were shown to our rooms which had the windows firmly shut covered in polythene due to building work outside.dust everywhere and no natural light.we complained and it was dealt with quickly and efficiently and we were moved. Food in the restaurant was not too good but adequate. Otherwise apart from the mix up with yourselves over booking a balcony it was a good stay.

Lovely stay in a beautiful hotel.

Posted 24-Jun-2016
Pros: Location & sea view. Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: More umbrellas for shade around the pool.
Location: Perfect location across the road from a beautiful beach.
My hubby & I are just back from a lovely stay. We had a sea view room in the annexe, which was spacious, modern, bright & airy, & the view was amazing - beach, sea & mountains - & beautiful sunrises that you could enjoy without even getting out of bed...! The hotel is in a great location just across the road from a lovely beach. It is about a 10 minute walk from the central port area, but it is a really easy walk along the front, with the advantage that it means the hotel is at the quieter end of Puerto Pollensa. The pool area is nice, although we did prefer to mostly spend our "sunbathing" days at the beach - because, in our opinion, there weren't enough umbrellas for shade around the pool, & they were taken quickly, & also the beautiful beach is just a short walk across the road. We were very impressed with the restaurant & the food - it was of excellent quality, the hot food was hot enough, & the staff were constantly refilling or replacing it, so it never ran out or dried up. I am coeliac & have to eat gluten free food, & I was catered for very well. Although they don't have a specifically gluten free menu, I was guided around the buffet & shown what was safe, & they serve the best GF baguettes I've ever tasted...! Breakfast on the terrace was a lovely start to the day! All the staff, without exception, were friendly, courteous & professional, but special mention must go to Jaime & Paco, who were extra helpful...! We will return!

Small, select hotel with fantastic sea views.

Pros: The staff.
Cons: The evening meal needs to accommodate those who do not like buffet-style dining.
Location: Nice quiet (normally) location, 5 minutes from more bars & restaurants. Lovely beach & marina where you can hire boats or go on boat trips.
Very nice hotel with clean, spacious, comfortable rooms. We weren't told about roadworks which created very intrusive noise. The food was fine if you are a fan of buffet food. If we returned we would only book B&B but this wasn't an option on this booking. The hotel was located about 5 minutes walk from most of the restaurants, shops etc so it was not troubled with noise from lots of people passing by and apart from the noise from roadworks was nice and quiet. The beach was beautiful and kept very clean. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. Any query was responded to straight away. Despite the road works we enjoyed our stay although we weren't really able to enjoy the balcony except at the weekend because of the noise. There was a huge number of cyclists in the area who made driving on precipitous mountain roads quite stressful. They behave as though their safety is everyone's business but their own!

Good hotel, great location

Posted 24-Oct-2015
Pros: Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff, with great restaurant recommendations and help with bookings, activity suggestions, and much more.
Cons: Occasional unpleasant smell in corridor, intermittent television reception, coffee, orange juice & muesli at breakfast could be improved, otherwise OK
The Uyal is a very good hotel with good facilities and excellent staff. The hotel is adjacent to an great beach with great views, fine white sand, safe bathing and a very convenient beach bar. The hotel is very conveniently located within a comfortable 10 minute walk to the main restaurant area of town. For those who like a swift pre and post dinner drink, the Mombasa bar is a must.
