Small, select hotel with fantastic sea views.

Posted 23-Apr-2016
Pros: The staff.
Cons: The evening meal needs to accommodate those who do not like buffet-style dining.
Location: Nice quiet (normally) location, 5 minutes from more bars & restaurants. Lovely beach & marina where you can hire boats or go on boat trips.
Very nice hotel with clean, spacious, comfortable rooms. We weren't told about roadworks which created very intrusive noise. The food was fine if you are a fan of buffet food. If we returned we would only book B&B but this wasn't an option on this booking. The hotel was located about 5 minutes walk from most of the restaurants, shops etc so it was not troubled with noise from lots of people passing by and apart from the noise from roadworks was nice and quiet. The beach was beautiful and kept very clean. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. Any query was responded to straight away. Despite the road works we enjoyed our stay although we weren't really able to enjoy the balcony except at the weekend because of the noise. There was a huge number of cyclists in the area who made driving on precipitous mountain roads quite stressful. They behave as though their safety is everyone's business but their own!

Good hotel, great location

Posted 24-Oct-2015
Pros: Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff, with great restaurant recommendations and help with bookings, activity suggestions, and much more.
Cons: Occasional unpleasant smell in corridor, intermittent television reception, coffee, orange juice & muesli at breakfast could be improved, otherwise OK
The Uyal is a very good hotel with good facilities and excellent staff. The hotel is adjacent to an great beach with great views, fine white sand, safe bathing and a very convenient beach bar. The hotel is very conveniently located within a comfortable 10 minute walk to the main restaurant area of town. For those who like a swift pre and post dinner drink, the Mombasa bar is a must.

Strandhugg på Hoposa Uyal !!!

Posted 06-Oct-2015 on Hotels
Legger gjerne turen innom igjen!

Hotel Uyal, Porto Pollensa

The Hotel itself was great, however, our room was one of the few without a balcony and view. Our room was in the annexe, at the back and had bars on the window. This gave the impression of a well appointed prison cell. We were very disappointed and felt that this room should be heavily discounted - it wasn't !! We asked to change rooms but were told that the hotel was full - not sure if it was though. A shame as this was a holiday to celebrate recovery from illness and our 32nd wedding anniversary. Loved the area though and would return but not without checking the accommodation first.

Pictures look better than the experience

Posted 19-Sep-2015 on Hotels
Stayed for two nights, unfortunately in a separate block to the hotel in a pokey room overlooking the pool and derelict tennis courts. If you leaned out and twisted your neck you could just see the sea. The room was modern but very small. Think the hotel was full at the time and we asked to move and heard a number of guests complaining about their rooms. There was a fairly curt response to room complaints. Hotel has a small pool and is across the busy main road from a nice beach. Breakfast was very good and staff seemed obliging in the restaurant. But we would not stay again, not great value because of the room.

Great Hotel - Fantastic Location

Posted 14-Sep-2015
Pros: Location and good food.
Cons: More comfortable sofa bed
Location: Over the road from the beach, lots of good restaurants nearby.
Extremely clean hotel in a great location just over the road from the beach. Close enough to the restaurants to stroll to in the evenings but not too close for noise etc. Small pool but not really a problem as it is so close to the beach. Breakfasts were very good with lots of choice of hot and cold selections. Room always cleaned to a very high standard but I would like to make the point that the sofa bed on which my 12 year old son slept was very uncomfortable and, like a previous reviewer, we had to use extra bedding to pad over the springs. Apart from that small matter we have a lovely time and would recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

Good hotel about 15min walk into the town but sandy beach just over the road.
